Global ride sharing service Uber will once again expand their role to ice cream delivery man. Following suit to an initiative the company ran last year, the transportation king pins will personally deliver tubs of Giapo Hokey Pokey Ice Cream to users throughout five cities across the country.
New users of the app will benefit the most from the promotion, receiving not only $20 off their first ride, but also two complimentary tubs of creamy delight upon signing up with the code “ICECREAMNZ”. Existing Uber users will have to pay $20 for the service when selecting the ice cream option in the ‘Promotions’ section on the app.
Uber reports they have five times more ice cream up for grabs than last year. The service will be available this Friday 24 July between 11am – 5pm through Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown while stocks last.
So it's a good deal for new users who like ice cream and want a free ride. However for those who don't need the ice cream and are in Auckland, this deal offers $20 off 2 Rides Each. Alternatively, you can sign up via the Uber Referral Wiki to get $25 credit. So it all depends on your situation.
Do you guys know whether uber picks people up from the airport by the pickup/drop off stands?
