Muscletech Nitro-Tech Whey Gold 11lb + Creatine + BCAAs + Samples $71.96 at Sportsfuel

200
BLACKFRIDAY

Advertised at $139.99 but when added to cart plus BLACKFRIDAY 20% coupon it comes down to $71.96 (free shipping) which is insane value, probably a price glitch. Great price just for the whey alone ($0.47/serve). Good for a beginner looking to start at the gym building muscle, or just stocking up if you're a regular gymgoer.

This whey tastes ok, it's a little sweeter than others, and only two flavour choices. But it does the job.

Not sure if there are many fellow gym rats on cheapies as I don't see such deals often :)

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

Thanks mate, too good a deal to pass up

  • I'm curious, how much working out do you need to do before this has any affect?🤔

Beginner gym programs usually have you muscle training at least 3x a week. Rough estimate, a beginner with a healthy BMI will start seeing good results after about 8-12 weeks of consistent effort at the gym, that's without taking any of this stuff.

Taking this stuff will theoretically help with building muscle, getting you results faster. How fast depends on a lot of things… what exercises you are doing, how much you weigh, % body fat (it's harder to notice results if you are overweight at the start), how much protein you are getting in your diet… the list goes on.

      • the whey is to give you more protein, which is required to build muscle. You can get that from food too, but this gives you a boost without having to eat like half a chicken a day (if you're a big fella with big muscle goals). You drink this during/after workout.
      • I've never used BCAAs before but they apparently help build muscle, and reduce muscle fatigue. You take these before/during workout.
      • The creatine also helps build muscle, and boosts strength. You take this immediately after a workout.

I'm far from an expert but hopefully this answers your question. (and anyone, please correct anything I got wrong)

I've been doing the program Stronglifts 5x5 for some time now (a great beginner's muscle building program), and I believe the whey has helped a lot. My squats are at 120kg and bench 70kg (that's 5x5 sets without failing, not max)

      • Thanks very much for the reply, it's appreciated. I think I need a lot more effort for this to have a noticeable impact haha.

  • how is this compared with ON gold standard?

      • I find ON is a little less powdery and a little more grainy, so mixes with less effort (doesn't clump as easily). A good shake makes this one mix fine though.
      • ON has many more flavours and is not as sweet as this whey. (You can sweeten ON by using less water)

Performance wise it's probably about the same. Protein is protein.

  • Thanks so much for finding this. I was literally about to buy the Same 11lb protein from Xplosive for $130.

  • Quite jealous, when I use whey in the past I feel like it makes me bloat more so I've been using rice and pea protein powder instead. but this is ridiculously cheap for 5kg of whey I'm tempted to buy anyway lol.

  • Both flavours of whey are now out of stock.
