Canterbury Cricket are thrilled to announce that the first official match under the new lights at Hagley Oval on Sunday Jan 10th will be FREE ENTRY!
This year’s ‘Light up the Oval’ initiative, made possible by Ara Institute and ChristchurchNZ, offers the Canterbury community the chance to be a part of something special when the lights get switched on for the KINGS v Stags match at 7pm.
Around the ground, we will have a wide range of food and drink vendors as well as our inflatables for the kids to replicate the action-packed cricket from out in the middle.
After the games, all of our players will be available for autographs and selfies, so come on down for what will no doubt be an amazing afternoon/evening of T20 cricket.
Thats pretty cool will attend. And just for anyone who hasn't seen the new lights, they are huge. Tremendous. The biggest lights anyone has ever seen.
Yep they're big, towers over the trees. Actually surprised they got the go ahead with the friends of Hagley usually protesting if a flag pole is too high or of the wrong colour. Maybe they haven't seen them yet.
