Re: ID verification; "If Apple decides to verify your student status, Apple will email you a request to submit a copy of your valid student ID before they ship your purchase out, the request will give you a deadline and the order will be cancelled if not responded in time or return a successful verification" frkino @ OzBargain

  • Last time I bought a apple pencil gen 2 on education store no verification needed. But that was like a year ago. Is it still the same no need for verification of I want a macbook?

Give it a go… Worst they can do is cancel your order.

      • Agree

I bought a macbook air start of December - off topic: M1 chip is awesome - and no educational verification was required. Now I met the requirements but I was shocked that they asked for no proof considering it's a good discount (now better with the bonus airpods).

          • @relishpuke: Apple's education store goes through Unidays, and it's Unidays who check for education credentials. Basically you login to your Uni via Unidays, and manually specify how long you'll be studying there.

@Avantime: Only for things like subscriptions like Apple Music etc, but not physical hardware purchases.

  • Any idea when this offer will end?

      • Thanks!

  • Bought one, let's see

  • Anyone else still waiting in processing? I have been charged a pending holding amount of $279 (only the AirPods cost) which seems quite odd.

I have had exactly the same thing happen. Ordered iPad air 4. Initially had a hold of $0 on credit card then today a charge of $279 went through. Now just received my shipping confirmation of airpods. Says delivery of iPad is early Feb. I am thinking I will get changed the difference between airpods cost and total price when iPad is dispatched?

      • Same thing, rec'd airpods in few days now waiting on mbp.

      • Yes I have also been charged $279 which has gone through completely, and the AirPods have arrived. Why would they not just charge me for the iPad Air 4 amount? I’m going to call them tomorrow.

        • +1

They charge you until it ships

Should I buy MB air now or wait for the next M1X chip?

    • +1

No point waiting around IMO. These are incredibly fast and efficient machines, and are bounds ahead of similar devices or past Intel MacBooks.

Honestly seems like great value at $1569 or even as low as $1369 if you manage to sell the AirPods!

      • Very true. Thanks

  • fyi, just got charged the right amount -$270 for the AirPods and it’s now saying “Preparing to Ship”, so hopefully arriving soon.
