  • Why 16gb models are never on the list :/

    • I think it's because people are willing to pay full price for those. Whereas this one has too little RAM and oly ~200gb of available space with no card slot or other form of storage, so it needs to go on sale.

      • 16GB Mac air, It's not worth $320 more and are usually a special build which means you have to order them in.You will only see fractions of a second or only a second difference in load at times with multitasking hi demand programs with the Apple M1 Chip. In its standard form it's a remarkable little computer as it can outperform many older MacBook Pros .

        • I think that brings up the other factor, which is that not many applications have been rewritten for M1, and lots of those that have only have a reduced set of features. Some applications perform OK in emulation but some are slower than on Intel chips. It's a mixed bag right now, and people who are buying M1 devices in 2021 should have temper their expectations as early adopters.

          • @Slogan: You're right and that's why I don't believe 16 gigs is viable at the moment in MacBook Air but they are certainly the future even Microsoft is going that way or be it trying again.I think people's expectations are high because the MacBook Air is now a viable laptop rather than a iPad with a keyboard.

Isn't it better to get this deal direct from Apple?

Education pricing of $1569 plus free apple airpods. Others have said they don't seem to ask for confirmation of you studying anyway.

    • Yeah better to go for the student deal, and better to deal with Apple for warranty vs Pb Tech.
