  • FYI: It only supports PCM on optical input.

i got this model from them, great speakers, but pretty sure mine werent new, maybe a return. anyway they came in a photocopy paper box, when i emailed and asked them they said it was to save space which seemed odd as they had no idea what i was talking about until i sent them pics. When i asked if they could supply me with the box they went silent. I would never buy from them again.

    • That's pretty shoddy.

      • i like the speakers tho, and paid more than this deal

    • l brought a new Samsung S7 until I put some software and a few key pad inputs on it an found it had been reconditioned.Gave me $50 voucher and a refund and said they were sold out so could not supply another one .

umm you can get heavily fined for selling a used item advertised as new here

      http://i.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/2523990/Farmers-fined-10…

Best that you make a complaint asap, otherwise NZ will continue to be a dumping ground for shoddy Aussie products ie. written off vehicles, terrorist etc etc

  • Has anyone had much experience with the Kogan heat pumps? seems too cheap for a 8.0kW heat pump at $999

    • I'd like to know too 👍

    • Seems like a bargain. It would be covered by CGA for a reasonable amount of time I would think. Eficiency isn't great..but if you're saving $1000+ who cares? (other than the environment)

      From what I have read..

Kogan often rebrand "Previous Years" appliances and then take on the warranty support directly.. (Eg rebrand Samsung washing machines)

And from everything I have read, their support is 100% horrible.

Also FYI, from my experience a huge chunk of the Heat Pump cost is actually the install itself.

Yep, but mostly Kogan just sell low quality whitelabelled products dressed up to look like a bargain. Like their TVs that have a well documented history of the flimsy plastic stands suddenly breaking, leaving you with a dead TV sitting in the middle of your lounge and precisely zero help from support.

Every Kogan branded appliance I've bought (half a dozen) has been a disappointment. Joke's on me though, I keep going back thinking this time it'll be different.

A heat pump is not the sort of appliance you think to yourself, "well, it's a third the price, if it breaks twice in 10 years I'm still winning", since you have installation and disposal costs, not to mention the hassle and inconvenience if it fails, probably right when you need it most.

Wouldn't do it, personally. CGA or no CGA, it's not worth the hassle.

Agreed. An install can cost as much this heat pump, and Kogan being an Australian company with a poor reputation for customer support is going to drive you nuts if the heat pump fails.

Heat pumps are an item that people shouldn't skimp on. Just get a Mitsubishi or Daikin, and don't skimp on the install either.
