Looks like a very good deal - I am tempted even though I have no need for it at this time.

I can only hope that if / when I do have a need, that the price will have fallen even further :-)

write speed seems to be crappy, which is why it's never marketed anywhere. took a bit of finding

great for storage only, not frequent data transfers to it.

  That's exactly it, if they don't advertise the read/write speed, usually sh*t. Good for storage tho, especially at that price.
