  • Can you tell us what's Pump Stacking?

    • +1

      click the link it explains it at the bottom on how it works

      • This is where my maths isn't so great.

        You can opt to "Stack" or save the savings but does that work out to be cheaper? Doesn't this mean you are not getting the discounts on the various $40 fuel purchases?

        • +1

          No 100% certain since I don't have a car.
          But yes seems like you can pick and if you decide to stack then it's best to do the minimum $40 to get the stack and then do a full fill/50L.

          It very much depends on your cars tank space. And working out what's more efficient depending on how disciplined you are.

          Otherwise 10c of every Wednesday is easy.

          Not sure if supermarket fuels dockets stack with it too

          • @Huntakillaz: supermarket dockets don't combine with other promotions and generally 6c off. wednesday's 10c still works out a better deal

        • Assuming a car with a 40L tank and petrol at $2/L.

          Using stacking you would:
          * Fill up $40 (20L): no discount
          * Fill up $40 (20L): no discount
          * Fill up $80 (40L): discount 6c x3 = 18c/L
          Overall discount of 9c/L (an extra 3c/L)
          But you had to go to the petrol station an extra time.

          If you have a larger tank the overall discount is better. 60L would be 10.8c/L

          (Hopefully my maths is right)

          • @Thrifter: if you go on Wednesday's I think it stacks at 10c each time

    • Pump stacking is just another marketing gimmick designed to confuse the hell out of consumers into thinking they are getting a great deal.

      • Yeah I never liked such things, especially the supermarket docket stuff.
        But that's crappy capitalism.

    I think gill drop all their prices by 10c a litre on wednesday/thursday every week as well.Even if it's not advertised.

    • That is correct. Check the Gaspy app.
