  • Very nice find.

    Thanks!

  • So it means we can get 2 for $10.2 at Mitre10 now?

  • Good find thanks. Can’t be bothered arguing with Mitre10 for $1.80 (YMMV but my local is rubbish) so put an order in through repco

True, $1.8 is not worth the hassle. Placing the order now, thanks OP.

  • Does this expire?

  • Has anyone here used them before, any good? Work as described?

I haven't used one, but have done a bit of reading on these kind of products.

Similar solutions (usually a goo bottle, and little 12v compressor) are very common on cars which don't come with a spare tire, or run flat tires. My Nissan leaf has that setup as does an extended family members fiat camper van.

      Key things to note:
      - Temporary repair only. Need to take your car in for a proper tire repair at a workshop when you can.
      - The goo is typically a real pain for the tire shop person to scrape out, and if your car is modern with tire pressure sensors it can damage them - better to fit a spare if you have one, or if a slow leak, just keep pumping it up at petrol stations or with a 12v compressor.
      - They won't fix major damage, sidewall slash etc.

I wouldn't bother if you are carrying a spare. But if not, a can go goo, along with a cheap 12v compressor are worth while. This is the compressor that comes OEM with nissan leaf's:

      • Awesome, thanks for the detailed reply! On a side note, $19 isn't bad for a 12v compressor

        • Yip. They have a bottle of goo that screw into them, but still work fine as just a compressor without that. Gave mine a quick test at one point.

Will be a wrecker or somebody parting out a crashed car which came with one of them.
