From Auckland Transport’s website:
AT Metro trains and buses are free after 9pm, right through Elemental AKL.
As an Auckland Transport initiative, supported by the NZ Police, there will be free buses and trains after 9pm for the duration of Elemental AKL festival, 14 July – 1 August 2021.
Elemental AKL is Auckland’s major mid-year festival, and there are more than 50 events taking place throughout the region. We want to make sure that everyone enjoying an evening out can get home safely – without being tempted to drink and drive.
Elemental AKL runs from 14 July to 1 August celebrating the culture, cuisine and creativity of Auckland and is delivered by Auckland Unlimited, the region’s economic and cultural agency.
