250 Bonus Airpoints Dollars on a New ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum Card

250 bonus Airpoints Dollars on a new Airpoints Visa Platinum card
Spend at least $1,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months to qualify.

  • 1 Airpoints Dollar for every $85 you spend on eligible purchases
  • $150 p.a. annual fee, charged $75 half-yearly

I assume cancelling before six month will result free 250 air points for just $75.

  • They pay out the 250APD pretty quickly too once you get the statement where you spend 1.5k cumulatively. Unfortunately they bill you the $75 fairly quickly too.

  • Damn, I just signed up to an AMEX for the 500 points. Might do this one next if I can!

  • Anyone else get a good airpoints haul? I have a kiwibank cc and consistently pay no interest and get 60-100 points a month. Pretty sweet!

    • How much do you spend to accumulate that many points

      • Thousands. Lol. If I get 70 airpoints it's $5250 at their rate of 1 for every 75 you spend. You get 2 lounge passes every 30k you spend and I hit that in 6 months usually. I'm not rich, I just put everything thru my card. Haven't paid a cent of interest in nearly 2 years either.

  • At the AMEX thread people were sharing that AMEX gave out free AirPoints equivalent to waiving the annual fee. Wondering does ANZ have a similar offer?

    • Free airpoints over and above the 500 when you spend 1500?

  • Are you eligible for the points if you transfer from an AMEX airpoints card?

    • T&S Doesn't say anything about other AirPoints cards. But you have to spend $1000 in first three months and balance transfer doesn't count towards it. I'm apply for this after taking on AMEX offer this year as well, hopefully they will honor it. :)

Offer only available for a limited time on new ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum cards, when you spend at least $1,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months of having the card. Offer only available once per customer. Offer not available on multiple cards, on transfers from any existing ANZ credit cards, if you have had an ANZ Airpoints credit card or ANZ CashBack credit card within the last 12 months, or in conjunction with other credit card offers or package discounts. If you transfer or cancel your ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum card before points are applied or becoming eligible for these bonus points, you will become ineligible for this benefit. The bonus Airpoints Dollars will be added to your Airpoints account in the month after you have spent $1,000. Eligible purchases do not include cash advances, balance transfer, the purchase of cash substitutes (such as travelers cheques), gambling transactions, or business related expenses.

Just FYI for those looking re the Amex deal, that is still a much better deal (500points) + better return. ($59 = 1 Airpoint Dollar)

  • ANZ wants a 40 minute call to talk about the CC application. :(

    • Yep I gave up at this point. Was so simple to go with AMEX. And I've already met the spend of $1500. Could not be arsed with ANZ so pulled my application. Not worth the hassle. They also wanted me to go in…

Yeah same. AMEX was a breeze.

  • Does anybody know whether you can cancel within 6 months and still only pay $75.00 towards the annual fee though collect the full 250 airpoints after spending $1000.00 in purchases ?

    • Yes

  • Yep give this the wide berth as what a lot of hassle just to get their crappy credit card . My application was declined even after supplying ID and 3 months of bank statements even though I have no debt and lots of savings in the bank . They then offered me another credit card on nearly the same credit limit of $8k , go figure ??? Stick with Amex as who don't make you jump through so many hoops to get their credit card .
