Just over $500 worth if you stay on the included $84.95/month plan. Just don't forget to give the required 30 days notice to cancel!

      Great deal, thanks for posting

Dam, just moved providers, otherwise would have qualified. Works out to be $42.50 per months, spread out over 12 months. Pretty close to whole sale price.

Weird that doctors are not on the list!

    • +1

You can tell them about it here and might add Doctors to the list

      Suggest a frontline occupation

      • Yeah weird how they didn't put doctors in frontline workers. Not planning on taking up the offer but have just sent them an email anyway!

      • I don't think they put much thought into their front line list, perhaps they want to keep it as small as possible.

They're assuming doctors are swimming in cash?

      • +1

Doctors don't go from massive student loan to swimming in cash instantly out of med school, just saying.

  • Very interested . I think I might be out of contract. Anyone had any experience with Slingshot? Dont know much about them

    • Using it now. Have used them for few years and no complains. Switching to stuff next week as out of contract.

    • Have used them for the past 15 years, no issues

    • Have always heard really bad connection issues and bad service about them from friends and family. I have never had connection with them. From replys couple of good experiences from cheapies members. The good news is no contract so worse case scenario transfer the connection to another provider and make the order to happen 30 days from when you place the order. :)

Uh they forgot hospital doctors and gp clinics? Lol…

    • There's an option down the page to suggest any occupation they have missed

  • Does anyone understand if I can pull out my installation booking? I just signed another company but haven't completed the transit process 😕 i want to book in this one

    • You should be able to cancell the order. Call the company who is doing your transfer or installation.

Awesome. Signed up my Mum (a teacher) at 7pm last night and she was connected this morning.

  • Nice, my wife is a Nurse - if you swap broadband providers is it seamless like swapping power companies - or do you need to call and cancel the other one and is there a gap in service etc?

    • Normally there is 30 days cancellation notice outside contract. Plus you will have change of modem/router unless you are using your own.

    • Do a transfer order so this way no interruption to your service.Check with your current provider
to see if your on contract or need to give 30 days notice.

My mother was on Skinny. No contract period. Signed her up and next morning she got an email from Slingshot saying they had switched her over. Just had to update settings on her Skinny router.

      • Nice thats who I am with, and its been years so there will be no contract.

  • Switched over. Getting connected on the 30th :)

    Thanks OP. Really nice saving!

Thanks OP - a nice saving of $600! Was pretty seamless - signed up one day - submitted a picture of my wifes ID - connected next day. Lost internet for an hour or so and then it came back to life without doing anything and is all up and running.

Was out of contract and just used the Skinny router that I already have - which I guess is mine due to it being part of the signup deal with Skinny way back when..

  • Interesting, sent an email saying they missed GPs/doctors from the list 2 weeks ago and forgot about it. Checked back today and they've added heaps more to the list but no GPs. Never got a reply from Slingshot for my email either.
Seems like they have something against doctors.

yeah, (profanity) em - supermarket workers belong on that list too - much more in harms way than a (profanity) physio

      • I know right?
Got a friend who's a physio and he isn't allowed to work during level 4 lockdown! They really have no idea who should be on the list there.

  • Free broadband i suspect they are doing a We hope you don't bother to change at the end of the free 6mths and get retention but must be a huge cost to them as they still have to pay chorus

  • Looks like the list has now been expanded.
Now includes: Supermarket staff, doctors, physios, bus drivers etc
