New Vacuum Recommendation (under $300?)

My Electrolux zpf2320tp vacuum has decided to stop working and having taken it apart, fear that it is a wiring issue. Not my field of expertise. Bought it from Briscoes 4 or so years ago for $200 ish. Don't have a power tester and don't have any soldering skills if that's what it came down to.

Thought I'd start looking for a replacement in case I can't get it to work again. No preferences. I live in a small apartment (5 minute vacuum and done) but will most likely be changing house in the next year or two.

The Electrolux vacuum had great suction and the two different heads were great. My partner does leave a lot of hair around so something that can handle that would be good. Cordless would be cool too but not if it bumps up the price considerably. Something under $300 would be nice but it's not a hard cap.

Any recommendations?

Vacuum robot, double your budget but you can use the time it saves you from vacuuming for bargain hunting, so your investment will pay back in no time.

The Bissell Powerforce Helix Upright Vacuum has great reviews and is currently only $139 at Harvey Norman. However, it's also available at The Warehouse for a price beat and can also get $15 off with the giveit codes, making this a very cheap deal ($110.10 with free shipping code).

    • Yeah I've been looking at that one after seeing the deal on here and some comments on Geekzone. Have messaged some people who said had bought it. Leaning towards a Miele if it's no good.

    Second hand Miele

  • Hoover is a really good brand! I’ve had mine for 6 years and it’s still going strong.
