Depends on what you are after, gaming or basic entertainment. If gaming go for the one you linked (165hz with 1ms response time), if basic entertainment, then the 4k monitor in this post (60hz with 4ms response time).

      • Ah i see, I'm after both haha
But from what I've read, the difference between 4k and 2k in a 27" monitor is almost undetectable.
My main concern is the colour accuracy for movies etc, I have no idea how to judge that but i'm guessing if both are ips panels it should be the same?

If you are after colour accuracy then usually Dell Ultrasharp Professional range (I had one for photo editing work), they are around 98% accuracy. The Gaming one is pretty good (I have one as well), it's around 93% coverage. The 4k one in post, from what I can see by googling, it's about 87% coverage. To be honest, for day to day task, 4k one is good enough, you can't tell the difference unless you go for the professional range where you do notice some colour hues being slightly different

Only available at Palmy North & Riccarton for click and collect. Wish the price was closer to the dell.com sale from earlier in the year.

  • I'd recommend buying monitor with USB-C with power delivery - it has simplified my desk to a great extent.

    • Can you recommend a few? thanks

      • I am using the UL850 and that is great

  • Why not recommended for gaming?

You'd want something that goes higher than 60hz, also most avg people wouldn't have a gpu to drive a 4k image

1440p high refresh is the sweet spot atm for anything less than a 6700/3070 level of gpu.

But this is all subjective to each users preferences and what parts they own.

      • Cheers for explanation

These were on sale via Dell's website direct for around the same price - the only issue was lead time for delivery from Dell. This is an excellent price if you're in the market, good for work and play. I have three of these and they run 4K 60hz fine. It runs Doom Eternal on a 6900XT at 4K at 60fps+ perfectly and it looks awesome, no tearing or issues. The HDR modes are bullshit on these monitors so don't buy them if colour accuracy is super important, but the colours and viewing angles are still very good by comparison to any other 4K monitor at this price point. Note the stand is a piece of shit and you'll definitely want to buy solid Vesa mounting arms.

  • Just received it today. The buzzing sound from monitor is loud and terrible. Searched on Google, found other people had the same issue. I decided to return it.
