NordVPN (69% off) / Surfshark (81% off) Plus 95% Cash Back (~ $5 to $10 for 2yr)

Routine cheap prices on VPN's. Great deal as usual. I'm personally using Nord, which I find to be great. Links below:

Special Terms

Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN/Surfshark customers only.

Cashback may be ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards.

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will not include any GST, taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

The amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

  • Just spotted there's an OzBargain post here for the same thing.

  • To sound like a complete idiot… I sign up and pay $130 odd with paypal and then am given a cashback to my paypal for around $100? Sorry guys

Hey man, not a complete idiot at all.

Sign up using the referral link (you'll get $10). You then make sure that you have all anti tracking extensions disabled in your browser (such as using incognito), and then click on the link on the "shop now" option to take you through to the Nord or Surfshark website.

You pay the $120ish nzd (shows as $99 usd, use a free vpn to USA and bypass getting charged extra for gst) and after a few hours the transaction will pop up in your Cashrewards account. After a 3 month period, you can withdraw 95% of the payment you made to either an Aus bank account, or your PayPal account (which majority of people here opt to do).

In the end it works out to between $5-$10.

I took the punt with Nord, we already have surfshark it occasionally it doesn't work well with some services.

All up it cost about $145 using a NZ debit card and my cashback just tracked at about $131.

All up $14 for 27 months is pretty decent, will play with both to see which one works best for our needs but it's nice to have a fall back option in case ones servers get blocked.

    • what do you use vpn for? i just bought the surfshark deal the other day due to fomo. Haven't found use for it yet

      Any interesting channel or something?

We use it on an Amazon fire stick set to the UK and we can watch most of their free on demand services using it. Also works on other countries but the only ones I've tried and got to work on a tablet are Australian broadcasting.

I've also used it to sign up to YouTube premium in India, Xbox gamepass in Brazil and considering trying Turkish Netflix, all individually have saved me way more than I spent on the vpn I used to sign up. You don't need special device or to be connected to the VPN on those once you're signed up though. Pretty sure there's deals in here for all of these if you poke around.

        • yup i managed to get to sbs for their on demand content.

          thanks for the cool suggestions

Pretty good deal. Just signed up, seems to have cost NZD $152 all with AUD $123 pending cashback (approx $130 NZD).

Important point to note the 2 year plan is recurring so remember to cancel.

    • Sounds as though you were charged GST. Either way, glad you're happy with it :)

      • +1

Yeah, I used a free VPN connect to the US and tried to pay but credit card got rejected for some reason, so ended up just paying the GST. Still a good deal though.

There was also a dependency between the 69% discount (for 2 years) on Cashrewards and the discount offered when I clicked through to NordVPN, which was 72% discount. This got me a little worried that it might not get honoured, but hopefully all good.

        • I'd suggest that Nord updated the pricing on their website which hadn't yet reflected on the Cashrewards website. As long as you see the money listed in the "rewards" section of your account, that's what you should be getting back.

  • Says 30% cashback for me? I guess I missed the train? :(

    • Yes. It finished Thursday night. That's why the post is marked as expired.
