I think someone got the price and the discount around the wrong way…

    • Yes, almost certainly a price error.

  • May be its gone, says: Sorry, this colour / size combination is not currently available.

  • They fixed the price now

    • Downvote for saying it's a pricing error? It's pretty obvious it's a price error.

  • I'd really recommend spending the extra on the Xiaomi speaker that is regularly about $60 at on tech. We have both and the speakers in the Xiaomi are a significant improvement and makes music much nicer to have on.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Hi-Fi Speaker with Google Assistant is the one you are referring too? I have the 1st Gen mini's & they are awful.

      • That's the one, I got one for $60 in the Xiaomi spring sale and they went down again over labour weekend so seems to be a fairly regular price drop. It's still not going to be the absolute best sound around but if you just want to stick on some background music throughout the house it's pretty decent, definitely a step up from the home minis you've got especially at a similar price point.

My only slight annoyance with it is it's a barrel jack and I've used ethernet adapters on my home minis to get them off the WiFi.

Alternatively if you just want better music, the home minis can play their sound through a connected Bluetooth speaker which is an easy way to improve them.

I keep getting tempted by JBL charge ones as well, the ones with the charging base that work like this but you can just grab it and take it outside if you are out in the garden instead of plugging in to a battery bank or finding power.

The things down to $55 now on black Friday sale so if you were tempted that's a good price and with it over the Google homes for the better sound quality.

    • Kinda like a Sonos speaker right? The homepods are surprisingly good if your in the apple ecosystem

    • Wondering, have you tried using Youtube Music on it? We got one recently and even though it's a listed service, YTM doesn't seem to work. My guess is Google has limited it to premium only.

We have YouTube premium so I can't tell for sure, but I don't think it is limited, you just get ads.

Have a shop about in India in a VPN, YouTube premium is totally worth the going rate there😉

      • You can use the old trick of signing up to YTP using a VPN with an Indian server for aprox $2.50m. I've had this for more than 2yrs.

      • @Everettpsycho / MyFriendAutism… thanks. Might have to look into that. Just thought there might be a way to get into YTM without going premium.

I have the entire family on ytp in India for about $3 a month. I used to pay for Spotify or Google play music so that price convinced me to just do it and remove ads on everyone's account as it use to drive me mad that I got them when anyone but me asked for music. Now I've had it a while I'd actually consider paying full price to keep it if they ever shut down the Indian method to get it cheap.

      • Google Home & Nest speakers
You can use YouTube Music on smart speakers, such as Google Home and Nest speakers.

Smart speakers will stream music for you that is closely related to the album, song, or playlist that you request. They cannot play specific requests or repeat songs, unless it is music you have uploaded. However, you can change radio stations to listen to different music and skip to the next song up to 6 times per hour.

If you are an ad-supported user and you request a song that you uploaded to YouTube Music, you will be able to play that specific track.

Note: YouTube Music Premium members can listen ad-free on smart speakers, and request albums, songs, and playlists on-demand. Check out our paid membership options to explore other membership benefits and sign-up.

In some markets, YouTube Music will be your default music streaming services on Google Home devices. If it’s not your default, you can change your music service settings.

        • Does anyone have any free family spots for YouTube premium, I'd be happy to set up a small automatic payment.

I do the same with a Spotify family that I share with some members of choice cheapies (no free slots currently).

          Thanks.

    • Thank you. Ordered two.

  • Ordered and payment deducted, but shopping went from $6.50 to $19.00 at the last screen which is a bit sly. No word yet on whether it will be shipped

  • if only warehouse chat was live in the early morning hours for a possible pricematch! happy with my $22 one i guess
