1110

Can't figure out the specifics, but there's a bonus $5 off for what seems to be most of the store. Worked on a variety of $6, $7, $20, $50 items I tested.

"Click & Collect $5 Incentive -$5.00"
Has to be 1 item. Can't be multiple that add up to $5.

Wow there's going to be backlash

      • +1

It's not like we did anything wrong with codes this time

    • +1

some went through but some got rejected?

      • +1

I guess some stores fulfilled their C&C orders early, and it's probably too late for head office to cancel the order once the "ready for collection" text went out.

        • +1

i got ready for collection 2 hours ago, but when i arrived in store 30 minutes ago, i was told my order was refunded

          • +1

@organicLv: WTF. I'd be so pissed if I went there and they told me that.
I'm still waiting for 1 item, so not gona collect until it comes.

            • @huffboy: I was a little bit annoyed, would have felt better if they cancel before i hit the road, but i also felt bad for the guys at the store

          • +2

@organicLv: I think you should lodge a formal complain, pricing error aside, if payment accepted and you have been told the order is ready for collection, they should not cancel the order without your consent.

            • +1

@akrotohur: take this up with fairgo, name and shame time!!!

            • @akrotohur: I complained 2 months ago regarding cancellation of items that still in stock, have not yet get any reply on that one, may not want to waste time to write another email to the warehouse

  • +1

Picked up my 8 this arvo. Staff were a bit snarky lol. There were 3 other cheapies at the store before me, and still one more to come.

    • +1

How did you know they were cheapies? The look of shame? ;)

      • The discounted shoes, t-shirts, and asking to pay by Zip would give it away!

        • Don't forget me sporting a Sony WH MX4 and EB Games clearance hoodie. Sadly I have yet to jump on the Zip bandwagon.

      • They were probably on their phones scrolling through Cheapies 😂

        • That would be me…

      • They were wearing their Cheapies shirts: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/8954

        • Or maybe their free Veeam t shirts if they ever arrived ;)

      • +1

The staff said there were "three more of you this morning, and one that hasn't come in yet"

        • They're onto us!! ;) It's a trap

          • @L3tstaxth1s: I'm sure by now The Warehouse Group are well aware of our existence… but not competent enough to anticipate and mitigate every pricing mistake 🤣

  • They stuffed up bad 🤣🤣🤣

  • All of my 5 orders have been cancelled, including 2 that are ready for collection but I haven't got round to collecting.

  • +1

The Warehouse here. There’s been a delay with your order. Check your email for more info.

    They spamming me via text

  • +1

Just got a whole bunch of texts from The Warehouse saying there's been a delay with about 5-6 of the remaining 8 orders. Guess that means they haven't cancelled them yet.

'Orders are now on our priority list'. I feel bad for them in a way ;)

    • We’re sorry, the following items are not ready to collect today. Your order is now on our priority list. We’ll be in touch within 24 hours.

      Fingers crossed

      • good luck, i got ready for collection 2 hours ago, but when i arrived in store 30 minutes ago, i was told my order was refunded

        • Did you checkout as a guest?

          • @Foodie: I use the app, logged in, does it make a difference?

            • @organicLv: As a guest you dont have order notifications via app or login

              • +1

@Foodie: right, my case was received emails notification saying orders ready to be picked up, check app says "delivered to store", so i hit the road, 10-15 minutes later arrived to my local store and was told my orders are refunded, refreshed app and show status "refunded"

      • Got same for one of 10 orders. Nothing else. But checking the app all are showing as refunded.

  • +1

Checked in the app for the status and they are all (7) refunded. New Lynn store.

  • App displays status as Refunded :(

    • Same here. I haven't received any emails about it yet though.

  • Yeah seems New Lynn weren’t so quick to process C&C like some stores. Oh well

  • My belfast orders have been cancelled..

    • How many orders did you make? I made 8 and I was able to collect them all from Belfast.

      • 12 at belfast , 9 were of the same thing tho.. also did 3 orders at another store in chch but picked those up at 6 with no issues

        • So many of the same thing probably tipped them off - staff probably reported it as a glitch. All of my orders were different

          • @NeM2k2: Yeah, my 3 orders at northlands were all different items . 3 was better than nothing.

  • +1

I’ve got one order (Block of Whittaker’s ready to collect).
My other two orders are ‘pending’ and I have been advised that they are delayed although it doesn’t say cancelled.

  • Rangiora - all orders showing as refunded, but nothing in the bank yet. Sadly it was just too good to be true.

    • How do you find the Rangiora store? I've found their managers to be real sticklers with returns, price matching etc.

  • +1

Those that got there orders check your accounts u may of been refunded also 😂

  • Suggest they need to explain how / why they have refunded based on what’s in their t&c’s as “ process of listing a product or service on our website or a technical error in the processing of your order” is very vague. The product listings were fine and there was no technical error in taking my payment and confirming the order. This seems like human error root cause at best, leading to a technical issue. They’ve also acknowledged the validity of the promotion if some orders have been fulfilled…..

    1. Refusing or cancelling orders

In the unlikely event that the goods or services ordered are no longer available we reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders that we believe, solely by our own judgement, to be placed for commercial purposes, e.g. any kind of reseller. We also reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders that we believe, solely by our own judgement, to have been placed fraudulently.

While we endeavour to ensure that the price and description of goods or services is accurate, if there is an error in the process of listing a product or service on our website or a technical error in the processing of your order we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order.

Our right to cancel orders applies to orders that have been accepted.

    • +18

Nah, they screwed up, we exploited it, and now they're trying to limit the damage. I can't fault them for their actions.

There's being cheap, and then there's being entitled and cheap.

      • +1

not quite sure the guy who stuffed up the code still employed?

        • +1

Probably joined the dark side of the force and became a cheapie…

          • @L3tstaxth1s: LOL…….

          • +6

@L3tstaxth1s: Well.. the cheapies ads are now for the warehouse displaying items that I brought… almost taunting me!

            • @Foodie: They're saying "buy more of me… At full retail…"

        • +1

Thing is, it's not even the first time they've stuffed up like this. TWG has got to be the company that this place has exploited the most.

          • +1

@Plug: This version of stuffed up is even better, even collected orders are "refunded" now…haha, is it a bug or a feature? LOL

  • +1

I've picked up 5 of the 11 orders I made. All the orders now have the status of REFUNDED. None showing as COLLECTED. Only chocolate was ready for pickup where I really wanted the Nivea product. I did make a rookie mistake though. One of the orders only had 1x Nivea. I forgot to add the 2nd free one.

    • So even refunded for the ones you picked up?

      • Yeah. All have the status of refunded but nothing has hit the bank account yet.

    • Which store?

  • +1

TWG has ate losses on multiple deals here for thousands of dollars each time out of goodwill, it was only a matter of time before they got sick of it and took action. It's clearly an error, if you didn't get the goods in your hand they are allowed to refund you..

I'm just sitting here hoping they don't touch our free shipping codes lol.

    • May yet still happen if it all collapses into the MarketClub umbrella offering

    • +4

I just dislike people being told it's ready for pickup then refunded while they are in store to collect

    • Goodwill? I think you give them too much credit. The cost in man hours to catch the cancel every single order before the stores fulfilled them was probably greater than just letting a bunch of them go through.

  • All 5 of my orders now showing as refunded in the app. Didn't get any processed sadly. No explanation or comms, oh well!

  • They have refunded me orders that i have already collected… will wait and see of it reflects on my bank account😜

    • I think it happened.alot

    • Which store?

      • St lukes…

  • All my orders just got refunded, 0 emails or communication from Warehouse. Boooo

  • In store now, I had 3 ready to collect emails (out of 6) and 2 had been refunded by the time I got here.

  • Collected my 10 out of 40 in Feilding and other 30 which is in Palmy now has been refunded.

    • I GUESS IT COSTS NOTHING TO REFUND US EVEN SOME STUFF HAS BEEN COLLECTED BUT IT MAY COST THEM ALOT TO SELL STUFF TO US FOR FEW CENTS.

  • +1

I placed 6 separate orders, got emails and text confirmation when they were ready to collect - confirmed my collection time and went to pick up to then be told they were all cancelled and refunded due to being “out of stock”.

The staff member looked confused and started checking the items to find all but 1 was in stock and sent someone to go get them all.. they returned with the items but then scanned them all and promptly tried to charge me full price.

I showed them my order confirmation and price I paid originally then got all sheepish saying they needed the manager.. who would not come in person and told the staff member that they couldn’t honour it because it was a mistake.

So my drive out to their store was a waste of time.

I have received no emails or texts to advise that any of my order had been cancelled or even refunded.

The store I tried to collect from was Lyall Bay, Wellington.

    • +1

I think a formal complaint should be lodged for this, as the customer has already been told that the order is ready to collect, and you have already started taking the action to collect the items, they cannot simply cancel the order without informing you and obtaining your consent.

If complaining to TWG doesn't work, try taking that up to ComCom.

If the order hasn't been processed, that's another story.

      • Despite taking your money a sale isn't complete until the goods are handed over, they are well within their rights to back out when it's clearly a price error that occured. They could even send the goods via courier and recall the package before it arrives and thats legal too in that scenario.

Yes it's inconvenient for the person given they got pickup notifications but they also knew what they were getting was likely too good to be true. ie no whittakers blocks are for sale at the supermarket for 30 cents, on special they are like $3.50.

        • +1

You have a point, of course they can do whatever they want, since by law, they don't have to honour deals that are pricing errors. If they cancelled those pending orders (money has already been taken), I think it's acceptable, but not when they have already informed a customer that their order is "ready to collect", just doesn't feel right to me. A customer is well within their rights to lodge a complaint about the way TWG handled these transactions.

        • -1

Well I paid $2 to get $50 worth of Whittaker blocks from New world when I signed up to disney+ trial, so 20c a block right there

  • Refunds now all showing in my bank account

  • +2

I love how people are talking about comcom.Yet make out like we all havnt done something classed fraudulent at any point of our lives.swings and roundabouts..we missed one deal I'm sure there will be another

    • +1

like we all havnt done something classed fraudulent at any point of our lives

Yes, this guy right here, officer…

      🤣

    • +1

Yeah this one didn't sit right with me so I sat it out entirely. That's not to bag those that did partake though. But in saying that, if they have taken your money and let you know that it is ready for collection (being a subsequent active step taken on their part), doesn't seem right that they can then cancel the transaction. Contrast to say stories about self serve pump stations putting the decimal place in the wrong place and not being able to correct before offer and acceptance is completed. Also, should some of you return some of the refund if part of the order was satisfied? It does cut both ways as you say…

  • Well I got half of what I ordered so pretty chuffed at that, the stuff ordered later will be cancelled. No refunds yet, or cancellation notice but pretty sure they're gone. No box of sugar puffs for 50c boo hoo. Or 4 cans of deoderant for $2. Guess its a stinky summer.

The really screwed up and weird thing about all of this, I ordered two whitakers choccy bars and both were posted to the store for pickup. After pickup I went to the choccy section and they had heaps there in stock. Madness.

    • They put most stuff in those bags

    • I doubt it would’ve been couriered to the store that quickly. Most likely the store also acts as a fulfilment centre so they have courier bags for parcels going out of the store.

  • I made a few orders this morning (half cancelled) on the computer. Just logged into the app and I was able to do another order with a $5 discount. This was a one off. Next order I tried, no discount was applied.

    • You didn't recently register for Market Club in their app did you?

      • Ah.. could be that. I hadn't made an order via the app for quite a wee while

  • +1

Seems to be alot of christchurch members

  • +1

I did 18 orders! Managed to get 16 of them (10 were for Whittaker's chocolate blocks!). Picked up from Porirua. Took 10 minutes all up. When I checked my order status, it shows as only 1 item picked up, and the rest have been refunded!

    • At that point it would have been better had they just let you collect all your orders and not refund you.

  • Clearly some kind of coding error but I guess if you have no shame there’s nothing stopping you from trying.

  • Just two more votes needed to hit triple digits

  • +2

got you to tripple digits… nice post congrats! & to all got in.

  • 4 of my orders are showing as refunded. One is showing on hold for some reason.

  • 7 of my 8 orders show as Canceleld and all 8 refunds are showing on my card. The 1 pending order is for some coin batteries, the most expensive order at $2. My pickup is the South Dunedin store.

  • I received confirmation that my items were ready for collection yesterday afternoon (all but 1), my order history in the app shows all but 1 item has been refunded however money isn't showing in my account. Does this mean I may still be able to collect items in store?

    • Whenever I've had a refunds from the Warehouse it normally takes about 2-3 working days to show up

  • I only did 5 orders, 4 are showing as refunded (but no refund yet) and one is showing as “Delivered to store” as of this morning.

I think the mistake for us Aucklanders was picking stores that don’t seem to be doing click and collect fulfillment. I’ve noticed in the app you can collect most things today from Westcity but choosing Westgate tells you 2-9 days.

O well, this was a fun one, I’m always happy to participate but okay if the retailer doesn’t want to honour it. Would be nice if they sent out some form of acknowledgment though, like a few, I haven’t even received one notice.

    • That's correct, it's not about forcing them to honour the deals (which is impossible and unlawful), but they also should not be allowed to force customer to just swallow whatever the retailer decide to do with the orders, especially when they have already informed the customer to pick up an order but still go ahead and cancel it without the customer's consent.

      • Yeah I agree it’s a fine line here. Whatever happened to comcom looking at Noel Leeming taking orders online for stock they couldn’t procure? I remember reading something about that. The scenario in itself makes you wonder what the official take on acceptance of order is (is it payment processed or order confirmed etc).
