Lenovo Legion 5 15": AMD Ryzen 7 5800H 16GB RAM 512GB SSD RTX 3060 15.6 FHD 165hz - $2349.00 Delivered at Lenovo Trademe Store

30

Had a random browse of the Lenovo TradeMe store and found they have local stock of this laptop. When I looked there were 9 available and a Q&A saying they'll ship out from Auckland within 2-3 business days. The Lenovo NZ website currently lists a shipping time of up to 8 weeks and a price at $2714.

Important to note this isn't the Pro model.

    Hi,

How do we know for certain that this is actually Lenovo, rather than some random who has setup a TradeMe account with that name?

Its a good deal, but I am always a bit leery of buying a laptop from anyone other than a well established retailer / direct from the manufacturer (such as Dell).

    Thanks,

    Alan.

    • you can check the trademe account. looks like them. also it's a business trademe account so normal CGA laws apply

      • Which is all good, but I could setup a store with all the same features.

        • hello, I'm sorry - but how did you get that name, Alan? Because I'm Alan - this is my name.

          Thanks,

          Alan.

          • @llames: Yes - my point exactly - thank you!

@llames: Which is the real one??

            • @Senior Mouse: Hello Mister Mouse - I am clearly Alan Lenovo, would you like to see my wares? I am selling laptops, super cheap!

Person above me is imposter Alan.

              Regards, Alan.

        • well if you check it has their details including a lenovo email and website linked to the TM account

@puppety: But same issue - I could create a TradeMe account with the exact same details?

They could put a link on TradeMe to nz.lenovo.com/trademe (or whatever), that takes you to a page that confirms the validity of the TradeMe account I suppose. That I could not trivially fake.

Its not that hard to understand the issue, but I guess some people are just credulous.

    • Can confirm that i bought a laptop end of last year from the Lenovo trade me store. They shipped the laptop to me and i received emails from Lenovo with an invoice and tracking number..

      • Thanks :-)

    • Wonder what their margins are like selling direct thru TM and paying the success fees compared to selling thru retailers.

      • they probably have special corporate deals with TM.

  • This was $2099 earlier in the year.

  • I can confirm, after ordering I got a tracking email from lenovo, and about a month after delivery a credit note for lenovo NZ Ltd,
so i'd say the trademe store is legit.

    • Thanks :-)
