This came up on my Facebook Feed from a Jack M who works for ASB in Nelson.

"We are doing International Money Transfers in-branch without fees to support people with families in Tonga."

"…you can come in and transfer money to them with out the standard $30 fee. This doesn't apply to doing it online, if you do it online you will still get charged the $15 standard fee."

"You will have to be an ASB customer to do the transaction and you will need to have the details of the person you are sending the money to."

Nothing on the ASB website about this, but hopefully this helps some cheapies families out there!

    If you're with ANZ, online transfers been free through ANZ since about September 2020

    Kiwibank also has free international transfers, also came up on my FB feed.

      Except for the small problem that Wise doesn't do transfers to Tonga.
