Hey OP, the other day I was mucking around with my VPN and Formula1 Pro TV and it seemed way cheaper paying connected to a South American country. Do you know if once you pay, you can watch it in any country?

Also, apparently F1 TV is free in Austria and Switzerland.

Hi Wakrak, my understanding is that you can use your subscription anywhere F1 TV Pro is available otherwise you'll need to use a VPN.

Turkey seems to be the cheapest option amongst the lot due to the Lira losing value. You can check Reddit for some instructions but I had no luck as F1 failed to accept any NZ card.

      • Cheers for the response mate. I'm not interested in F1 but good to know. I have a wise card which I imagine would have much more success than what you had. Something for others to take note of.

      • F1 TV Pro works without VPN in NZ. Not sure when this changed but it's now open to kiwi's. Just a pity I sub'ed last week instead to this weeks 20% off promo.

This year should hopefully bring some excitement.

Shout out to McLaren, given the (now vague) connection back to NZ.

    Thanks for the post.

Hey does this work here in NZ if you're not a Spark Sport customer?
As in do they have internet streaming distribution rights here in NZ?

    • Spark either dropped/shared the online rights so you will see New Zealand in the drop town list when Sub'ing. FHD @ 50fps.

      • Yeah Spark are sharing their rights so you can get F1 as part of their subscription at a higher cost that includes more sports or just F1 direct at a lower price point. Win win I guess.

      • they probably not hitting their sub targets to keep exclusivity

  • So can I buy this using a VPN set to Turkey for the cheaper price, then use it in NZ without a VPN?

    • Damn, replays are only available after two weeks for NZ, which unless your gonna watch each race live in the wee morning hours this is pretty pointless.

      • Yeah that's just stupid. 2 weeks is an eternity.

That's for the F1 TV Access subscription tier https://www.formula1.com/en/toolbar/content_schedule.html

This deal's for F1 TV Pro and the replays are available immediately. I used them last year when I would watch before work.

Yes on second look you're right! Sweet I'll get the NZ version so I don't have to muck around with VPNs.

  • Hey does anyone know any way to watch the 4k F1 stream as spark sports is limited to 1080p?

    • +1

Sky UK is the only option I know of(possible Australian based services). Spark could if they wanted to pay for it which is a real bummer, I would pay more for Sky Go(nz) or Spark for a 4k feeds.

      • +2

that sucks, yeah I wouldn't mind paying extra as well especially now that 4k TVs are the norm

    F1 TV doesn’t have a 4K option?

As a heads up to others, you can watch 1080P race summaries the next morning free on YouTube. It’s a nice way to review over breakfast.

Thanks for this! I'd signed up to try it for 1 month last year, so I wasn't eligible for the deal. Got on the chat and asked them to delete my account and then signed-up again and the deal applied.

    • Thanks for this info as I may be in the same situation

  • Can you watch on multiple devices at the same time?
