Not only does Trademe already offer the cheapest insurance I have found, Tower insurance discount codes also apply.

Tower owns 67% of TradeMe Insurance, so this is a white label product with small variations from the Tower offering.
The other two large insurance companies in NZ are Vero and IAG, with various sub-brands and white label resellers.
(Not saying there's anything wrong with it, just mentioning why the Tower discount codes work here.)

I was with trade me insurance and then found out that it's Tower… got a quote from Tower for a far better price.
wow, when I did their online quote for car insurance trademe had the better price.
Same here, priced Tower at nearly $300 more than Trademe.
@nextdoortoalan: Could be dependant on which town or city you live in.
Thought AMI were the cheaper ones!
As a single tenant what can I get insured for. I wish they offer health insurance
We're trying this for a year: https://www.nib.co.nz/special-offers
For a limited time, get Premium Everyday cover for under $11 per week for the first 12 months. Claim back 80% on dental, glasses and contacts, GP visits and more*.
Thought it was pretty good for $10 a week to see if it's worthwhile or not.
Thank you. I wish could do something like that with trademe
For those who get this, be aware of the waiting periods (from when you first sign up to when you can make a specific type of claim).
Here are some examples from this NIB policy's documentation:
Preventative dental treatment: 2 months
General dental treatment: 2 months
Major dental treatment: 12 months
Orthodontic treatment: 12 months
Pretty much everything useful is blocked for the first two months, and then they unblock things by category and severity.
Yea, we worked out we'd get back more than we'd pay in the first year promo, even with the waiting periods, but not so sure about subsequent years.
@Kiwi: How much are you totally paying for a week
@Splashyminion: Our billed amount is $86.85/month for 2. So about $10.
@Kiwi: That's pretty good for 2. Hospital care is expensive ! Quoted for mum $31-41 per week
Thanks for the deal but where do we enter the code? Can't find in any of steps.
It's on the second page (when you start applying), top right, underneath the quote price.
Stay away from trademe insurance, had a very bad experience with them. Customer service is pathetic, they will take over 2 months to process a simple claim. Similar claim took less than 15 days for state to process.
If you buying it for peace of mind,be aware- trademe insurance will take that peace away when you claim.
Got to agree, been a year since my claim, they've paid for the other parties car repairs after 5 months, and still working to get my car repaired (12 months on)
Last 3 emails have gone unresponded to
Absolute nightmare - moved to Ami for $100 less on premium, 250 less on excess, and same insured value and theyve been great so far
Odd, that sucks but Wife made 2 claims in 2 weeks via online claim app and we had it sorted pretty quick smart.
Trademe was voted best car insurance last year, and Tower at the bottom. I dunno, maybe it is rigged lol.

Trademes customer support is so nonexistent that it makes me look at the entire company as a joke. They even had an 0900 number for support.
I would never in my life consider having insurance through them, which can be a pain to deal with even going through companies with exemplary customer interaction.
You would have to be insane to think a company as greedy as this which shafts NZ with utterly brutal fees would ever be on your side in a claim involving them paying you money.
The TradeMe Insurance call centre is within Tower so completely separate from TradeMe.
Trademe customer support is existent when they want to charge you more, I got email from them after bought a new policy, they said:
The new policy has a FAST50 promotion code applied which is only applicable to Tower Direct policies, not Trade Me Insurance policies.
Got email from Trademe insurance and they increased my premium by $50. They said :
The new policy has a FAST50 promotion code applied which is only applicable to Tower Direct policies, not Trade Me Insurance policies.
I have expired the deal in light of baikal's feedback.
If someone else has been successful in using this code without a $50 increase to their TM insurance, let me know.
They caught on! hopefully I and some others have slipped through the cracks. No email yet.
