  • It looks like the main benefits are the free drink you get at the start, then the BOGOF each month.

I think you only earn 1 star per $1 spent, so you'd need to buy 25-30 drinks to earn a free one from stars alone.

    • What is a Star and how can I earn them?
Only transactions paid using a registered Starbucks You will earn Stars based on the value of your purchase at the rate of two (2) Stars for each New Zealand one dollar (NZD$1) spent using your registered Starbucks Card storewide.

Your change counts towards partial Stars at Starbucks. We’ll keep track of all your partial Stars and apply them to your total Stars.
For example, if you spend $5.30, you’ll earn 10.60 Stars. The 0.60 is not always visible (we like to keep things simple), but you can always view your Stars in your purchase history when you log in to the members portal or in the app.

Curious to know if that means topping up $50 twice will stack your Gold membership expiry to your 2024's anniversary day?

    • So if I bought in Feb 2022 and topped up now then it'll be extended until Feb 2024 correct? If so that'll be good as that wasn't an option last time

      • That would be sweet. Pity I wasn't eligible then for the Feb offer. Hope it will work out that way for those of you.

        • did yours extend another 12 months?

          • @huffboy:

Your Gold membership renewal will start the day after it's expiry date.

I'm curious to know too, thinking though it likely won't display the 2024 expiry date till the prior lot of Gold membership has expired…

    • I don't think you can top up $50 twice to get 2 extensions. It says only available once per member.

Good point I had missed the 'once per member' bit. Thought I'd be the lab rat and topped up twice this morning, probably won't work but fingers crossed.

Thanks OP. Perfect timing! My gold membership just expired this month.

You get one free Tall drink when you sign up, one free during your birthday month, also one free when you reach 150 points which is easily achievable within 12 month period (2 points per dollar using the app ordering).

I always have Tall latte which is $5.70.
$5.70*12 month/27 coffee in total =$2.53 per coffee. Pretty good value if you don't want to make your own coffee at home.

If you are sugar tooth school kid yeah maybe, but I'd rather have good barista made coffee.

One does not go to Starbucks for coffee. One goes to Starbucks as an alternative to Gongcha/Hulu Cat/etc

    :)
