  • I'm not sure if I trust a random force.com page with my credit card number

  • I was going to spend around $14,000 on flights. I deposited $20,000 into my AMEX card first (As my credit limit is only $3500).
Then I paid $6000 for my first flight successfully and then when I went to spend $7000 on second flight, it got declined.
Amex said they locked my card due to high security risk? There is literally more money in there than the cost of flights. Guess AMEX doesn't want my money *shrugs

    • Got similar situation, they only allow you spend certain amount each month based on your credit card limit. Top up won’t help.

      • Yeah but doesnt make sense my first flight payment of $6000 going through even though my limit is $3500

        • As I said, certain amount based on your credit limit. Close to your “spending power” if you know what I mean in your Amex page

    • spend your limit first, then top up, then spend it again. Dont deposit it one shot.

      • That's what I tried to do. I did $10,000 first, bought my first flights. Then deposited $10,000 then they locked my card

        • LOL, and by calling them they didnt remove the lock?

          • @Saint: Have to wait until tomorrow to call the Credit team…they don't work weekends. Ended up using my Platinum Edge to pay for a fare hold (that expired yesterday) Air NZ ticket…no $59 spend for one airpoint sigh….
