  • The butter has now went up in price to $4.90 without MClub…….

    • +1

And even still it is mind numbingly cheaper than the large supermarket chains.

      • The Countdown near me had butter "on sale" at $6.50 last time I checked. I think I saw $5.50 at PaknSave this week too.

      • +2

Nah, Pams is $4.99 in Pak N Save stores, and Countdown's own brand is always $5.80 or something similar.

    • Yeah it's a bit sad when an increase of 22.5% on the old shelf price is still way cheaper than the supermarkets.

    • Did I just go up today? I got 2 yesterday. Atleast I can justify my 10 blocks in the fridge to hubby now 😂

      • I buy 2 blocks at $5.90 each at my usual supermarket every time I go in and pop it in the freezer.

Good if you can actually find a Warehouse with stock……….

    • I've never been able to find bread there but butter is always available at my local.

      • I've never once seen butter in stock at mine (Lunn Ave)

        • Same, I never find stock in Westgate.

      • My local store only receives 1 tray of that $1 bread so yeah hah will always be out of stock 9 out of 10 days.

    • Yeah Hamilton Hillcrest is hit n miss.

      • I always to go the Te Rapa one around 10:30am. That's when they stack the fridges with new stock.
I'll grab 6 bottles of Milk and 2 blocks of butter

      • Angelsea Street had plenty at the checkouts.

  • Weird situation with market club, they indicated that my account hadn't used the sign up promo. She said it automatically applied, but won't stack with the discounts. With the $5 sign up promo it was cheaper than this sale, but in hindsight should have bought something else to use the voucher, then in a separate transaction got these deals.

    • This is because of the way they treat Market Club in-store vs Online.
It comes down to product/category offers and basket level offers.

In store you can't combine the two.
For example a product offer (ie Tararua butter for $4) can't be combined with a basket level offer (ie. your $5 off signup).
Online you can combine both - but obviously this becomes difficult when they make some offers in store only (such as the butter!)

      • I thought this too and asked at the checkout if the butter and bread offer would work in the same transaction thinking it wouldn't but it did

        • Butter and bread offers would stack - as both are product offers.
It would be just the $5 new signup offer that you couldn't use at the same time in-store.

          It's a confusing model!

          • @bigcheese: Yeah, It'd be better if they let you decided whether you want to use a promo or not at checkout, like most companies with this style of offering do

            • @eXDee: It used to work that way.
It's only the most recent update they did that made the coupons apply automatically.

  • Where does it say $4 for Market Club? I bought 2 today. I didn't know about the price difference so I didn't scan Market Club. Didn't see anywhere in-store or on app that it would be cheaper.

Edit: Ah, saw the offer in app. Very annoyed there was nothing in-store that indicated cheaper prices for MC members.
