Now matched by new world too 😂

        • +2

          So original aren’t they?
They could at least do something different to mix it up a bit!

  • it used to be a mission to spend 200 dollars at supermarkets but not anymore thanks to inflation, can easily get the 40c voucher now

    • +8

Yep - one block of cheese will do it now

      • +1

Essentially you get a block of cheese free for spending $200

and you should know eh bigcheese? hahaha!

      • This is getting serious

Aldi (UK) puts security tags on kitchen staple as grocery prices soar
        https://au.news.yahoo.com/aldi-puts-security-tags-on-kitchen…

Aldi shoppers in the UK have noticed the supermarket putting security tags on basic grocery items such as cheese blocks to tackle shoplifting amid soaring food prices.

        • Cheese - sure, but only on things that cost (more than) their weight in gold!

    • Careful not to give any bright ideas to the supermarkets. Next time will be spend $300 get 40c off voucher.

  • if you do an online shop but only collect next week do you still get the discount?

    • +1

Yes - according to the Countdown post.

Even if the delivery time for your order is outside the offer period, you still qualify for the fuel discount.

Presume PnS and New World are the same.

What a surprise, all the other chains have the same offer during the same period. I really hate how monopolies and duopolies run this country's industries.

You have / will be downvoted for saying that, but reality is that what you say is true.

The problem though, is that it requires nous and motivation, whereas if we had more competition, the players would be more likely to make it much easier to get a good deal all the time, and all in one place.

Anyone that says they don't have time to shop around, but sits watching TV for hours a week needs to at least be more honest.

        • No, I don't have time to shop around, I want my Whittaker's bar, and I want it now, I don't have time to wait for a special. Those who shop around are silly, think how much gold our time is worth, and how much fuel they have wasted driving around.

          • +1

@akrotohur: Completely agree - much better use of time to sit and watch TV.

            :-P

        • -1

Yup - but what the majority, including the commerce commission and consumer nz conveniently ignore - look a the suppliers.

    • -1

You realise we have less people in the whole country than Sydney and about half the GDP

  • Ok so I had a look and maximums appear to be:
Pak n Save - Max: $150 (pre discount)
    Countdown - Max: 50L

Just fyi to achieve maximum discounts

    • For Pak n Save it’s only a max $150 if you use a Pak n Save Fuel stop.
If the Pak n Save doesn’t have an on-site fuel and instead gives you a Z voucher then it’s 100L.

From the Pak n Save website

      • oooh thank you for that,,, such a shame no local ones have that option D:

  • Anyone know I can buy gift card to get this?

    • +3

      They are generally excluded.
Although Pak n Save and New World don’t say other gift cards are excluded (only their own) so you might be in luck with those.

      Countdown

      Pak n Save
