I wouldn't get bare drives from Newegg with their Return for refund within: 30 days policy
(Items covered by Newegg's International Return Policy are identified with a "This item is covered by Newegg's International Return Policy" label. Items subject to the International Return Policy can only be returned for a refund. You must request a return within 30 days of the invoice date. )
Although they do say this:https://kb.newegg.com/knowledge-base/additional-return-policy-information-for-global-sites/#new-zealand
but you're generally at the mercy of their support team
After 30 days they told me to deal with the manufacturer (For Laptop Ram I got) so assuming they do the same with HDD's you'd have to goto WD
In saying that Amazon packaging is atrocious but at least the customer support is good.
Have to be wary with OEM HDDs as well as WD doesn't give warranty on OEM drives. You'll be referred to the OEM manufacturer (E.g. Acer).
I'd avoid the deal for that sole reason.
FYI - The drive I received was not an OEM drive. Warranty until 28th Jan 2027, but only in the USA (so - still kinda no warranty here in NZ).
Drive was very well packaged.
I had a reply to your comment but I unpublished it as I realised that you're the person that posted the deal on Geekzone
Deal is back but now $378.00
How is their shipping of bare drives?, amazon just sends mine in a bigger box, luckily they were external drives.
