Great idea. I've just started a thread now - https://www.cheapies.nz/node/35233
noice!
I'm not a subscriber either, but last time I checked, I think you could read consumer at your local library (Auckland at least).
Might not be very convenient though.
yeah it is available there, and good idea for free access for those that go there lots.
We have that Dimplex dessicant dehumidifier. That thing is awesome and would highly recommend it.
Thanks! I'm leaning towards this model. A few reviews mention the Dimplex was noisier than they expected, has this been the case with you? Or not that bad?
You wouldn't use it in a room where people are sleeping overnight. We have it in the spare bedroom next to our bedroom and you can hear when it kicks on, but it wouldn't wake you up. I've also heard good things about the Goldaire. I would only ever buy a desiccant dehumidifier now, they work so much better down at low temps
Sorry for the slightly low quality, doing on my mobile phone and had to be a bit janky to fit it all one one screenshot: https://files.cheapies.nz/upload/8062/3673/dehumidifiers.png
If you needed more details or the detailed review then i'll grab that when i'm back at my computer
Thanks so much! The lower tier Panasonic and Mitsubishi models perform worse than I was expecting.
Could you also compare the Dimplex GDDEKD9 with the Goldair GD350?
Score: 85
The desiccant technology in the Dimplex GDDEKD9 is one of the best performing dehumidifiers we've tested. It performs especially well in low temperatures. The overall score was hurt only by the increased running costs. However, we cannot recommend this model as it was rated terrible for predicted reliability in our brand reliability survey.

Update: I took advantage of the Market's 10% off promo to get the Dimplex GDDEKD9W for $269.10
Wonder if Mitre10 would pricematch LX2001. Makes it $250ish.
My guess is probably nah.
They will probably cite “the product has to be available for same day delivery to you or collection by you” from their T&Cs and decline the price match.
I'm not a subscriber, but this is a good idea! Might be nice to have a thread going.
