      • I've got a medium plan to sell, keen?

        • Unfortunately not, I would prefer to be the purchaser.

    • still keen to spilt?

  • Keen to spilt a Small plan. Please PM me!

    • Let me know if you don't find someone.

  • Kogan is sending me 4 simcards lol

    • +1

How'd you break it now? Share your secrets, oh Wak of the rak.

    • same here… 4..

      • Only two arrived. Guess it's a description error.

        • What?
          Kogan and description errors?
          Mind blown 🤯

        • @Wakrak
How long did it take to arrive ?
For me the order been for there for a week already. I already received the voucher but still need to sim as this is the first time

          • @thesla: Ordered 15/08, arrived 22/08, rural Hamilton.

    • Same I ordered 1 and they sent me 3

  • Any know an estimate on shipping times? I just ordered and it says EXPECTED DISPATCH DATE: 29 AUGUST 2022 which seems a bit far out.

    • +1

My previous simcard orders typically arrived within two weeks.

  • Anyone having the same issue my Kogan Sim doesn't have good reception/signal, I see less than half of the signal bar on the icon am at Ashburton/Canterbury?

    • Have you only just changed provider recently that is now causing reception problems?
Kogan uses the Vodafone network which I would have thought was OK in Ashburton.

      • No I been using Skinny as main and have Kogan Sim as second sim, the signal bar for Kogan is always low (at home town area), I try to removed Skinny and only insert the Kogan to 1st sim slot but the same. Very keen for this deal, but was sceptical if the signals are weak for my area and it's a 12 months package..

        • It could be that where you live the Vodafone signal is not as strong as Skinny's (Spark network).
If you already have a Kogan Sim and the signal is poor then buying one of these packages is not going to improve it.
Even though the signal is lower is is still good enough? ie. do you lose calls when on Kogan or have poor call quality / slow download speed?

That would be the key for me - go with Kogan for price if the signal is still good enough for what you need but if not then I would skip this deal.

          • @bigcheese: Funny thing is I have a spare Spark Sim and Warehouse Sim the signals bar are weaker than Skinny also 3/5, not as weak as Kogan tho 2/5.

            • @doubledippps: The Spark Sim shouldn't be any different to your Skinny one in terms of coverage as it's the same network?
Warehouse uses 2Degrees so different again.

I would just go with whichever one gives you the coverage for what you need.

              • @bigcheese: The wholesale network is usually a subset of the retail network, at least I know that is the case in Australia. If that's also the case in NZ then Skinny network is slightly smaller than Spark network, Kogan network slightly smaller than Vodafone network etc.

                • @sunshinenz: They're the same as far as I'm aware - but not an expert so maybe I'm wrong.

From their respecitive coverage websites for Kogan & Vodafone it's identical.
ie. Covers 98.5% of Kiwis, 96% 4G coverage, Rural coverage to 295K homes.

        • Take a look at the Vodafone network coverage map. If you're too far away from a 4g tower you have have to downgrade to 3g.

Since skinny and kogan use different towers you will get varying amounts of coverage.

    • I've found that if I am travelling quickly, eg in a car, when I reach my destination I have no data reception at all. I have to turn airplane mode on and off and sometimes restart the phone. This is moving between 2 cities (Wellington to Porirua)

  • If you don't have a sim card yet, what if there are shipping delays and you don't get the card by the 30th September?

Also in regards to porting number across, does anyone know how long that normally takes and if you can do that after the voucher code has been applied?

    • I wouldn't worry about delays with regards to the sim. Porting was pretty much instant for me. Just make sure you also have your old sim in as you'll need to confirm a text prior to the switch

      • I don't remember there being a text that is needed. You just need the number and sim number printed on the sim. There is a text to tell you your number is being ported, but not a verification.

        • What I mean is I had to reply to a text from my previous provider when I requested the port. Don't biff it in the bin after the port request. Check your old sim first, I waited about an hour before I enquired and was told I had to check my old sim. So after I figured that out, it was a very fast port.

  • anyone splitting a large plan?

  • Is this showing up as sold out for anyone else? I'm wanting to buy the medium plan but it's showing all the plans are sold out.

    • Yes it is showing as sold out.
The deal is valid until the 31/8/22 unless sold out prior.
I would keep checking as it is likely to come back online again shortly. This often happens with Kogan

      • That's a bit of a worry.

What makes you think it will come back?

Although they haven't reinstated the non bogof 365 day plans

        • They are notorious for mucking up their dates with these plans and have done it with these deals before where they have changed expiry dates on promos.
It wouldn't surprise me if they loaded the expiry incorrectly on their system.
Even though it states while stocks last this seems really early to be sold out - a full 10 days before the listed date.

          Might be worth contacting them.
FYI - You have to contact Kogan (not KoganMobile). I made the mistake of trying to get in touch with Kogan Mobile previously and they referred me back to Kogan.

          • @bigcheese: I emailed them, but just got a very generic useless response. Will just have to see if they do load more stock.

  • +1
