2degrees and Spark as well. On sale since Wednesday. Don't know long they're on sale for.

    Link

    • Price is good until midnight Wed 17th August.
Note that all Sims have a quantity limit of two which is listed under the T's & C's when you click on each Sim separately.
If you try and put more than two in your cart it will change back to 2 automatically when you update the cart.

just do price match with The Warehouse, they let you buy more lol

      • Just wanted to shout out your efforts on the site! The wise card has definitely been one of the life pro tips for the year for me. What trials can it be used with? (I've used it with skysports and seen spark sports/spotify mentioned, any others? Which need the additional mobile numbers?)

Here's a list I compiled in January this year - I imagine most should still be relevant.
Worth reading through the comments too as there are some additional suggestions in there.
Spark Sport was one that came to mind as requiring a mobile number not previously used.
          Amazon Prime Video is another.

        • I use the wise card to get Apple Music 3 months at a time at shazam.com/applemusic
and use TuneMyMusic to transfer my whole music library over to the new account.

    • Those aren't actually good for any deals like Vodafone you get $20 off Bookme & Free Market Plus

  • Nice handy for people using virtual debit cards for free trials etc

    • virtual debit cards?

      • Like the Wise card.
Some trials require not only a new card number (which Wise allows) but also a new phone number.

        • Do you know if there are any limits to how many virtual debit card that one account can create?

          • @OmgItsHeaven: There are no limits but with Wise you can only have 3 active digital card numbers at a time.
That’s enough in my experience. Once I have used a card a few times I just delete it and generate a new card number.

        • Oo I only get the option of a physical card on my account, I assume you have to get that in order to be able to do virtual cards?

            • @Wakrak: Hi wakrak, does wise physical card cost anything to get it received? How many physical cards are allowed? Any fee in each transaction? Thanks

              • +1

@CJ: Costs $14 as a one off fee for the physical card which is required to be paid before you are able to have access to the virtual cards.
You only get one physical card.
No transaction costs when using for normal purchases.

There are fees if you require foreign currency conversion but they are reasonable compared to the banks.
                Fees here

                • @bigcheese: Thanks, How does business version different from personal if you know? When u make a purchase overseas say US with wise card, What's the flow? Virtual card linked to ur nz credit card or must be nz bank account? u get charged USD on virtual card on shopping site, wise charges NZ credit card in NZD at their conversation rate? What does that transaction appear in ur credit card statement, wise as merchant? Your insights much appreciated

                  • @CJ: I only have experience with it as a personal debit card not business and have only used it within NZ so can't answer that sorry.

In terms of the account setup, you have your own Wise account number which needs to have money in it - you can fund that by transferring money from another bank account.
All the debit cards (both the physical card and the virtual cards) are linked to that account and debit it accordingly when you make a transaction.
You can also have funds loaded in other currencies if you wish.

The statements are all from Wise which you can access within the app/online.

  • Great find

  • do these come with any credit? cause warehouse mobile have had $1 sim card forever

    • No they don't.
It depends what you're after though - if it's purely for a new mobile number and you don't care what network it's on then go with whatever is cheapest.
Warehouse Mobile sims do have the benefit of coming with $5 credit preloaded already and are $1 everyday.
However, a Vodafone sim can also give you access to MarketClub+ and free shipping on The Market with over $45 spend, Vodafone rewards etc.

  • After this HN offer expires, PBTech have $1.99 sim cards more-or-less permanently.

  • Export InfoTech sell 2degrees SIM's at 50c Each Permanently via their TradeMe Store - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/sim-ca… and Vodafone SIM's for 99c - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/sim-ca…

Free Pickup on the North Shore, have used them for bulk SIM's regularly without issues.

    • Other than for drug dealing, what would the scenario be for bulk SIM purchases?

      • using it for menulog/delivereasy/ubereats deals

      • I use to manage a number of social media accounts, so used a different SIM for each account / it wasn't linked to my personal phone number. Testing for work purposes. SMS verification for different services. Plenty of legitimate uses

    • With 2Deg sims, do you need to top up first in order to use them? Made that mistake the first time buying Spark sims :/ wouldn't let me receive txt's without first topping up.
