Yep, so simple. I would actually recommend creating 2x Spotify accounts, where one is a backup and has most of your up-to-date playlists. This is just in case something happens to your main account and you lose everything you've saved.
Back in the day, when Spotify API wasn't as crap as it is now, there were heaps of Spotify hacks floating around. You could get a Premium account and very easily download the song in its original high-quality format. My account was never banned, but I had kept some backup accounts up-to-date just in case.

You can - use the app SongShift on the app store. I think there’s a free trial so you could do it all in one go.
I paid some random guy in a facebook ad that offers premuim family shared account. The deal was more or less $20 bucks guaranteed 12 months my own solo account. That was 6 years ago and my account is still ok, I would be devastated if this suddenly ends.
I do have the Indian Youtube Premuim so I can access Premuim Music but the thing I don't like is it doesn't integrate with google maps on IOS when we travel.
Does Spotify Premuim have Indian, Turkey, Philippines cheapies/ozbargain work around?
I'm so cheap I just DL a cracked APK. Doesn't as good as premium but no ads is the main thing. (Probably an illegal comment)

If you're only going to use the premium for 3 months and stop paying, then at that point you'll most likely have songs saved in your original Spotify account, as well as the new one that you just created. If you want to transfer your saved songs back to your old Spotify account, so that they're all in one place, then you can use something like this:
