I concur, good airline.
But I think some (if not most) of the cheaper tickets will need transit via Brisbane, Australia.
This is the message I get on China Airline website after selecting dates:
To/From New Zealand flights will en route via Australia (Excluded CI059/CI060 direct flights).
Please make sure you travel with valid transit visa if required.
Even though with the filter "direct" on the beatthatflight.com.au, the flight labelled as shown is CI053/54, which the official website China Airline is saying it is transit flight.
Good deal nonetheless considering how expensive the flight tickets are these days.
