Decent price for this induction set, I got the 3 long handle pots in a deal earlier in the year for $79, with a 3-ply base it holds the heat better and cooks better than my old 1-ply and causes less burns

Bro, this air fryer. I got it on the previous sale price, which I think it was 299.
And holy cow, it is soo good. Totally worth it. I use it pretty much every day.

    • Same here, i use it everyday, totally worth it

Looking at that Russell Hobbs airfryer that's also on sale, as well as the Hampton & Mason nonstick pan. Anyone got any opinions on those?

    • I have the Russell Hobbs now, albeit a slightly older version. I use the Dual Ninja often too, but I prefer the Russell Hobbs because I can fit a whole chicken in it, and it's easier to clean one tray than it is two.

The version of the RH I have had a quite dangerous design fault with the tray, but I got it replaced with the new tray and it's perfect now. The RH does also throw out a lot of smoke sometimes when cooking things like bacon, so you do have to manage that sometimes! It's also simpler/quicker to use than the Dual Ninja, on which I think I have used the separate temperatures feature once.

      • I also have the previous Russell Hobbs airfryer.
Do you mind if i ask what the dangerous design fault was? Was it the non stick coating peeling off? And how did you get it replaced?

        • +1

No it was due to the 2 piece design of the basket which clipped inside the tray. When I pulled it out, if there was any sort of weight in the basket it would bend slightly at the handle. The clip would then release dropping the bottom tray and whatever was in it all over your legs and the floor. Not great when you're cooking a chicken.

I just took it back to Noel Leeming and asked them to fix it. They gave me a new drawer which is now a one piece system.

          • @Jizah: If the basket and the tray become 1 how do you clean the tray now?

            • @doubledippps: It just has a removable insert on the bottom now instead of a whole basket clipped in

          • +1

@Jizah: same with the $99 kmart one i have, i have a chopping board right next to it so i can rest the tray when i pull it out.

    • The $10 off $50 spend coupon is effectively the new signup bonus.

  • Looking at these, might be little small for our wee kitchen. Anyone have good recommendations for a good air fryer with smaller footprint? We had an air fryer last year but gave it away as every time we tried to cook potato fries, it wiill just cook the outer layer and the inner layer is either under cooked or super uneven..

    • Some yarns on Geekzone that reckon the Kmart airfryer is decent.

      • Thanks! That one is sold out but one thing led to another and did you know there are models with "rotating trays" ? Wow, now that seems pretty fancy but the only ones with rotating tray seems way too pricey

        • I got the kogan 11L with rotisserie - also has smart function so can watch the timer or adjust its settings from elsewhere or make smart paths (smart function I've found useless for myself)

Paid $90ish delivered during one of their free shipping sales

So definitely not so pricey options available

          • @Rowjo: Kogan is back to 149 but I see Kmart/Warehouse has some options

Seems to be a bit of frying pan discussion in here.
Consumer NZ top frying pans for anyone that's curious.

I think the Scanpan ones aren't that great since they have a bonded base. Full multi-ply pans will be better I got this set for ~$90 earlier this year, but unfortunately the price has shot up recently. They are great pans for the prices, the cuisinart ones are a little more premium but sometimes are discounted, I would recommend setting prices alerts on some of the sets on Amazon for black friday etc.
Personally I would only be buying the scanpan impact stuff if they are like 70% off.

    • had the kmart pans for 1.5 years, its awesome. but apparently sometimes the coating comes off around the rivets… although this is probably a problem with alot of brands

  • Saw this comment on GZ - "An air fryer is just a benchtop fan oven so just get a decent benchtop oven and you've got an all-in-one device alongside the air fryer. ?"

    Thoughts/recommendations anyone?

    • If you need to save space and need both items then yea it works pretty well, to get a 2in1

    • that’s like saying a gas stove is just a small bonfire. air fryers are much better for small meals with faster cooking too

  • Similar quality Instant Pot 10L is on sale on Amazon Australia at the moment for ~NZD 260 delivered. Probably a more useful size if you're feeding a few people.

Yup same model it seems, nice find! 10% price beat should bring it down to $220ish

      • Heh that is the Australian jbhifi site :D

        • True haha.
          I need to sleep :/
