Terms & conditions

The offer

Offer available to new residential customers taking power and broadband together at one property. This offer is not available to customers who have had their services with Trustpower within the last 12 months. This offer may be subject to change or expiry without prior notice. We are not obliged to provide you with services unless we accept your application. We can decide whether or not to accept any application and credit criteria may apply.

Term

The term of the Agreement for power and internet services (Term) is 12 months. This Term starts at the end of any cancellation period that applies to you, or when your broadband and power services have both been connected with Trustpower, whichever is the later. There is no fixed term for gas, landline phone or mobile phone services. Trustpower agrees to apply a $15 per month discount to the full monthly price of your chosen Broadband or Naked Broadband package – the Broadband Bundle Discount. The Broadband Bundle Discount applies from the date of this agreement. You will continue to receive the Broadband Bundle Discount for your chosen broadband package, as long as you continue to keep the broadband package you have chosen at the date of this Agreement and an energy service with us. If you no longer have any energy services with Trustpower, the Broadband Bundle Discount will no longer apply to your broadband service. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other fixed term power and broadband bundle offer, or with certain fixed term broadband only or energy only offers. This offer may be available in conjunction with certain other Trustpower offers.

Exit Fees

If you terminate or switch either power or broadband providers during the Term you’ll need to pay an exit fee of $250.

Router

If you choose a fibre service you will need to supply your own router. Your router must meet the specifications for arouter compatible with Trustpower’s fibre services. These specifications are available at www.trustpower.co.nz/fibre-BYODspecs. Using a non-compatible router means you may not be capable of receiving the stated speeds for Trustpower’s fibre services. You can choose to purchase a fibre router from Trustpower, see www.trustpower.co.nz/equipment-terms for details. Customers who choose wireless broadband will require a new Trustpower router for this service. A $14.95 postage and handling charge will apply for your Trustpower router.

Changing plans

If you have chosen FibreMax, you will not be able to change your fibre plan during the Term. If you have chosen FibreClassic, you can upgrade your plan to FibreMax during the Term. Fibre customers cannot change their service to a wireless broadband service.

Its not worth the expensive power. I've ran the numbers and even with 6 months at $80 ($480 "free") I would only break even after 12 months and then be on a worse power plan. They have just changed the bait from fridges / appliances to free internet.

Also note the month fibre price is much higher than many internet providers.

    • You also get $15 off monthly broadband and $50 when you sign up online.
Who do you use for power as im on electric kiwi and trust seems cheaper slightly

Double check that you are factoring in the GST. Kiwi is could be inclusive and trust exclusive.

        • Yes both were exc gst
