40% off Tyres @ Hyper Drive ($10 Less Per Tyre via Pricebeat at Tony's Tyres)

120
TYRES

I just got a quote from Tony's Tyres for $1064 ($266ea) and had them come all the way down to $659 ($164.98ea) fitted/aligned after price matching HyperDrive with the code TYRES which would have been $699.92 ($174.98ea) fitted from HyperDrive.

I'm unsure when/if HyperDrives discount code will expire as I can't see this on the site but it's a big discount from both their listed prices and also the prices which Tony's give so might be worth snagging this up if your tyres were getting close to repalceable.

Website also says 50-70% off Dunlop tyres for BlackFriday.

HyperDrive also Price beat by $20 per tyre, however, unsure if they would price beat a price beat and I wasn't going to faff round to find out!

  • how do you know what tyres Tony’s will price match? are there certain brands that will/won’t work?

    • +1

Yeah they don't list them. I used the online chat, gave them my tyre size, they came back with the tyres and price and then I searched it on google to find it on hyperdrive and compare prices.

40% is standard. Hyperdrive are basically Briscoes for tyres, almost always on special.

    • Not sure that really works as HyperDrive are still cheaper than other places even without the discount.

Hmmm…. Unless the price has gone up 50% over these 3 crazy years, their 40% off price is 10% more than what I paid for walk-in price at mag & turbo 3 years ago

Inflation, weak dollar, and perhaps a rise in prices of rubber due to higher demand in surgical glove manufacturing during covid times, I dunno. Also higher cost of container shipping fees.

Considering they wanted to charge me $1064 and were willing to come down to under $700 and still fit and balance the tyre… not sure anything less than "because we can" is a reasonable answer to the current prices.

    • Exactly! In my case it was more than 40% expensive than last time (about 3 years ago).

    • i don't know if this applies to all tyres but i went to beaurepaires site to compare the pricing and found their standard price on the pilot sport 5 is better than hypers on sale price.. i nearly got caught up in the hype and pre-emptively bought some but i shall wait until i actually need to replace.

If you're in Auckland, just check with Costco's prices first before buying at Hyperdrive. Also be aware that Hyperdrive's prices does not include fitting and balance, but Costco does.

    • Hyper drive add about $27 or so at the end of the checkout process - But the prices I've given all include fitting and balance. If Costco stock the same tyre you could even get HyperDrive to beat them by $20!

Surprised CostCo has a fitting and balance service? Or have they partnered with someone to offer this? Can't wait for them to open in other cities or offer shipping!

They have their own workshop in the same building. Shop in Costco, indulge in all their free samples, eat at their bargain foodcourt, all while they fit your tyres 😁

        • In the US they do cheap oil changes too I believe

Hyper Dunlop Direzza 255 35 20 $640.99 or $384.59 after discount. Plus $27.99 fitting is $412.58 fitted per tyre. Rung tyre trax in Hamilton and was quoted $319 fitted without haggling. Hyper original RRP are all heavily inflated.

    • Yup exact same thing happened to me today but with another local shop in Auckland.

  • When do u think this deal will end?

    • It's a long running deal ASAIK. 40% off through the year.

  • Just tried this code now (TYRES) and it looks like it is now invalid

  • Code still works for me
