Free $20 Gift Card (via Email) @ Noel Leeming

220

I got an email from Noel Leeming on Nov 30 with a unique-looking gift card code. I assume they give these if you've spent at least $X with them through the year or something

We want to say thanks for shopping with us, so here’s a $20 gift card to put towards something special for you, or for someone special.
See us in store to use your card by 31 December 2022

I got one of these the other day too but didn't lost as it was clearly targeted. The inky order on my account is the mispriced Lenovo smart bulbs that they cancelled and sent me a pair anyway so sounds like it could be most accounts based on my lack of spending.

Got one and didnt even see it until now. Thanks for post OP

    • +1

Yeah it went into the promotions folder in Gmail for me and I only saw it by pure luck

  • Got one, spend less than $50 this year at noel leeming.

What’s the email subject line? Just to search it in my mailbox

    • +2

A gift card for you, with thanks 🎁

Me and Peter Wyngarde talked about it on here a few days ago

Spent $3600+ in 2022, no giftcard.

  • I got that too - spent $70 with them recently.
Anyone know what's the min spend on that?
There is no mentioned of the min spend.

    • See my first comment, I spent $0, got a free product because they screwed up and sent a cancelled order and got a voucher. Definitely thinking it's not related to a minimum spend.

    • I'm assuming it's $0.01.

I got one and found you could use it online by adding an extra number/letter to the voucher code and then removing it and then the code gets accepted. DG2E***********293 was the format of the code I got.

    • +1

To be clear for others as this tripped me up trying to do this, this is considered a gift card not a promo code. You have to enter it when checking out on the payment page.

Now I know it works I might have to get me some free eneloops that I've been delaying buying.

      • Correct, it's a gift card not a voucher code. Can't edit original comment.

    • Not required anymore. Simply paste the code and itll work.

      • May not be everyone's experience.

I had to use the trick, then I didn't, then I did.

    • Thanks for that. That's really useful.

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. I missed it in my inbox

  • Spent heaps in Noel Leeming. Hope they’ll send me a voucher too

    • +1

If you didn't get sent it, you didn't get it. I think it was sent in one big batch.

      • I bought a phone….

        • Same thing on another account. $1999 phone but wasn't signed up to promotional material.

          • @Bill: I think that’s exactly what it is.
I’ve spent a bit of money on the account too but wasn’t signed up for promo material.

            • +1

@bigcheese: The early bird gets the worm, the late rat gets the cheese and the one who can put up with weekly hot, hot specials gets the $20 gift card

  • +1

Thanks OP. Received a $20 voucher - I used @mpc's trick adding a number to the code, clicking enter, then removing the number, and entering again (online purchase),
Got $46 worth of batteries (retail price) for $4.00 with CSC

    • Can you elaborate how to do this? So I enter my $20 voucher code first then add another gift card by adding a number to this code? Seems not working

      • +1

The issue I think is the confirm button is greyed out when you paste the code in, so you have to add another digit to get the button to show then take it off to go back to the valid code. It's not 2 vouchers just making the website accept one.

Just collected a set of eneloops for free which is pretty sweet.

      • Basically what Everett said above - Make sure you are entering this in the payment page as a Voucher, and not the previous page as a Discount Code

No love for me or pdevonporf even though we helped them clear out their Echo stash /s

    • Nothing for me either. 🤷‍♂️

    • +1

None for me as well. Had few accounts but seems none got picked up for this. Haha.

    • Nothing for me either. Spent $350 online last week.

    • +4

I think they specifically excluded you out of spite.

    • -1

Nothing, but probably because whenever they tell me at the counter that they need my phone number and/or email address "for warranty purposes" I just about get a hernia and tell them (politely, masking the rage inside) to sod off kindly hand me the receipt and I'll be on my way, thank you very much. They're very persistent, I'll give them that.

  • Nothing here either made orders on multiple accounts. Me and noel leeming dont have the most healthy of relationships though so understandable.

  • Ive seen on the noel leeming screen I have at least 7 accounts, at least 3 of which get regular emails, nothing for me though

  • Are the people who are receiving the codes also CSC members at Leemings? And have you received a CSC discount on anything you've purchased with them this year?

    • Yes, CSC for me. Both

      • Well that's that theory blown then, lol

        • Yes - Same as Foodie, I've probably spent $150~ this year with NL and received a $20 voucher

  • +1

Cheers OP rechecked my NL emails and code is there, did what a few others here have done and got the rechargeables for $1.31

  • No email for me bugger. I did just drop $1500 on a A7000 sound bar tho

    • +2

Probably dont think you need $20 to entise a purchase from you

    • +1

You're asking for a free $20 gift card.

    • lol

      • lol same reaction

I choose to be offended on their behalf. Bit of a stretch, but I managed it.

    • Lol

  • Got one but wasn't going to use it because I didn't realise you could use it online. Bought some aa eneloops. Cheers.

    • +1

Ahh damn I bought AAA by mistake ooo well..

  • I’ve exchanged the gift cards for PlayStation store gift cards in the past for future use.

    • Are there other gift cards in-store? I specifically tried the noel leeming gift cards online and you can imagine my disappointment when I saw "products in your cart cannot be paid using gift card"

      • Yes last time I received these the gift cards for PlayStation where instore

        • You've received one of these free giftcards in the past? Maybe worth trading the gift card for another one if going in store. Surprised it would work on other giftcards but not noel leeming ones.

      • I've used Harvey Norman Gift Cards to purchase Xbox Gift Cards at Harvey Norman.

There should be Apple, Google, Microsoft, PlayStation, Spotify, Xbox and others at Noel Leeming.

  • I got no love from NL :(

    • You also didn't signup to receive the promotions spam did you?

      • I changed my communication preferences now haha

      • +1

I tried to sign up but it said Im already registered for promitional material or something like that. Last purchase on my account was 19 October. No love for me either 😞

  • Drat ! For some reason I'd ticked 'Do not send me any marketing emails'…….boo hoo..

    • Don’t fret too much. I’ve been getting promotional emails for a few months now and did not get this offer.

  • Cheers! Found it in my trash

    • Ill take your trash?

  • Question is, for those that didn't get a gift card, does their capriciousness make you want to buy something in order to (potentially) get a gift card next time around?

    • +3

Not when another Cheapo spent $3600 at NL this year and didn't receive a gift card.

      • +1

I think the trick is to spend a small amount so that you dont come off as a whale.

    • Nope, if anything I hope to buy less. Horrible brand - it's somehow worse than the other TWG stores.

  • -1

If anyone has a giftcard they can't find a use on, I'll pay $10 for one as I found something I want.

I would use the classifieds as but it seems ill-fitting given the context.

    • $10 might be low, anyone want $15 then?

      • I only have a spare birthday $20 code but that has a min. $100 spend

        • I have one too. I was originally trying to buy something $100+ then use $20 gift card, $20 birthday code, and maybe $10 newsletter code to save $50 in total. I looked through the entire noel leeming catalogue and couldn't find anything I wanted. Now I have something I want to get that is $40. As you can use more than one gift card in a purchase, it is better to use up giftcards and potentially reduce the purchase of unnecessary stuff. But no way am I paying $15 for a birthday code.

          • @Bill: fyi that code will be free 😁

            • @The Hound: Thanks then but I have one that presumably will never expire. With the market referral, the codes are really only useful with CSC discounts.

          • @Bill: When did you receive your $20 birthday code? Day of birthday, first day of birth month or something else?

            • +1

@Peter Wyngarde: Mine were sent on the day. The email is also referring to the present day, "Happy birthday".

I forgot I set a random date, which made me confused at first. I checked on the website.

              • @Bill: Thanks for that. Next week then. My sister's birthday!

                • +1

@Peter Wyngarde: I'm also due to get another in 2 weeks. If you have any old ones, check that the online code is expired. They used to give both an in-store code and an online code and the intended expiry seems to be non-functional.

                  • @Bill: I've not received one before and added my sister's birthday last month.

I think everyone should set the birthday to Black Friday or Boxing Day.

                    • @Peter Wyngarde: It also has a 1 month expiry.

                      • +1

@Bill: November 27 is ideal and covers both sales within the month duration.

Cyber Monday takes place the Monday after Thanksgiving; the date falls between November 26 and December 2, depending on the year.

  • Ohhh I didn't get one. Don't think I'm signed up for their promo emails. Sigh.
