My second post ever.

Not sure if it's any good but I thought it was a decent price for a curved 24" gaming monitor. Refresh rate seems okay, but average specs for display and connectivity (no usb-c, HDMI and DP)

This is a VA panel. High refresh rate is only useful for competitive first person shooter type games.

For home office and general use an ips + qhd/uhd will be better areas of investment over fps

The 60hz vs 144hz comparison image is very misleading. You don't get a clearer picture.

Ports are very standard. usbc can be expected to cost more

    • Appreciate the expertise Bill. I guess the deal is more useful for gamer kids as an X-mas present :) I'll keep a look out for a monitor with ips + qhd/uhd specs for myself :)

    • Hi @Bill - would you know how the LG C1 vs LG C2 vary for FPS games / FIFA on PS5? Is the C2 far superior to the C1? I'm talking about the VRR sync, 120Hz for some FPSs etc.
Your thoughts here are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

      • Sorry, I have no clue. My current tv is 10+ years. I'm also looking to upgrade sometime in the future.

        • no worries thanks @Bill

I can't imagine they'd be too different, as they are both oled the response times will be low which is what you want for shooters. VRR works pretty much the same on all devices and is great for the user experience to remove tearing and frame skips where the panel doesn't align with outputted frame rate. Even my cheap $250 144hz monitor does fine with freesync. It won't help you be a better player but it's worth having, I found the elevator in portal was a great small room to test it on as it had significant tearing before I got a freesync panel.

        • Thanks @Everettpsycho

        • @Everettpsycho - hmmm so brandwise LG, Sony etc they would be the same as the cheaper ones? I'm looking for both best screen quality and performance but on a budget sub $3k, ideally under $2.5k. Size can be under 40". Does matter really since only for gaming. Any suggested models you can think of ?

If you don't mind the brand(like Kogan), maybe can also watch the Prism+ monitors on Amazon AU, they are always having sales on Amazon AU and got high refresh rate IPS panel too.

Interesting price on Dick Smith is $249 https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/buy/kogan-24-full-hd-curved-1… seems to be long term down from "$269"

Unfortunately price on Might Ape is $329 or $299 with Primate https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/kogan-24-full-hd-curved-… so Primate doesn't help with shipping to rural Hamilton
