These need a separate bridge to control from memory and are mains powered?

Cool but may be tricky to install depending on your circumstances.

    • yes, its own hub or a zigbee enabled homeassistand or similar enthusiast platform..

  • Any reason why you didn't post the white one and colour one together? Just curious

    • Couldn't fit it in the title / different products.

      Mods might merge em though.

  • IP44 protection I find quite underwhelming, it appears as an outdoor light, but cannot take more than a splash of water. Caveat Emptor.

    • I think the description on the Impress one is wrong, as it also says it is IP 65 as shown at https://www.philips-hue.com/en-nz/p/hue-white-and-color-ambi… and discusses how IP65 is better than IP44. However in the specs it says IP44. So very confusing. On the philips site it says

      Weather-proof (IP65)

This Philips Hue outdoor fixture is specially designed for use in outdoor environments and has undergone rigorous tests to ensure its performance. The IP level is described by two figures: the first one refers to the protection level against dust, the second against water. This lamp is designed with IP65: this means that it is protected against low pressure jets of water. It is a higher level of protection than IP44 and commonly used when luminaires are close to the ground or require higher protection due to the certain outdoor conditions.

IMO that seems to be the better deal of the two if it is really IP65, as it is also 24v so you can plug into an outlet.. Although you can buy it from Mitre 10 for $285 for the starter.Anyone know what wattage the transformer is and how many lights can be added to it? It looks smaller than the transformer you can buy separately.

      • Just checked a few sites ,and most don't seem to list the rating. But NL state it is IP 44, But Harvey Normans list it as IP 54. Yet Philips state it is IP65 . Not unless there is a new version of it? I am confused. But I am guessing it is IP44 and there are lots of errors on these websites. But this review of it has a photo of the packaging, and that packing shows it is IP 44 https://latestintech.com/philips-hue-impress-outdoor-pedesta…
