Happy new year to all. I read somewhere (might even be here) that Apple is likely to do another promo in Jan similar to last year's — free airpods for any purchase of a Mac or ipad on education discount.
I am about to buy an iPad for my kids so don't want to miss out on the potential freebie.
Anyone knows anything about this please share.

Hi just another thing, the US also had this back to school deal, but last year they changed it from, free AirPods to a Apple Store gift card, of $150USD for Mac and $100USD for iPad.
Doesn't look like apple is doing it this year
@jasonw: I would give it an extra week if you can afford to wait that long, otherwise the student discount alone is still a pretty good score on a new apple products.

I ordered one yesterday via https://www.apple.com/nz-hed/store. No proof required. The free airpods is automatically added (I upgraded it to a gen 3 with $249 off).
