COLORFUL iGame GeForce RTX 4080 // $1,867.19 + Shipping @ The Market (via Extreme PC) - Free shipping with market club (price includes using WKND10 for the 10% off)

I know the GPU market is hardly 'good value' at the moment, and this brand is not anyone's favorite/well known. But the price disparity on this particular card makes it close to MSRP - which sadly considering the inflated 7900xt/7900xtx pricing in NZ and inflated pricing of other 4080's makes this seem kind of good by comparison. Kind of tempted myself but warranties greater than 12 months are a must for me when spending this kind of money on tech.

Colorful is the biggest and best brand in China, and much better than budget brands like Palit and Inno3D quality-wise.

As for the warranty, the type it offers is more important than the length. I'd take a 1-year "comprehensive" warranty over any 2- or 3-year "limited" warranty which they can almost always wiggle out of. However, if you buy from a registered business, you can use the CGA to your advantage even after the expiry of the manufacturer's warranty, since it states that goods sold must be "of acceptable quality" and "fit for purpose," and you can rightfully argue that a GPU that fails from intended usage (i.e., not mining) well within its useful lifetime isn't.

Doesn't make it good value, though, since it's still above the MSRP. Then again, no new GPU is remotely good value at the moment…

    • Oh that's good to know that they are a respectable brand, thanks.

Interesting thoughts on the warranty, agree comprehensive is always better! my past experience with PC stuff is that anything past its listed warranty date is not going to have any support - so GPU brands like Gigabyte and Powercolor with good 3yr warranties are pretty attractive.

Hopefully GPU prices in general come back down to earth, here is hoping :)

    • FYI gpu's used for mining don't show any additional stress or problems than those used for gaming, in fact, if used for mining they'll often be in better condition as they've run at a constant temperature rather than going through multiple heating/cooling cycles.

Don't be afraid of buying mining cards, there's no more chance they'll fail than a second hand non-mining card
