You could also buy via TheMarket(TheWarehouse) and use a $20 off $100 referral code to make it $39 after cashback
    https://themarket.com/nz/p/hp-officejet-pro-9010e-ap-all-in-…

    • have you done that?
when claiming the cashback theres no TheWarehouse in the list, only Warehouse Stationary

      • iirc you can select 'Other' for the reseller option on the form

Funnily my Hp P1102w from this deal finally gave me a low ink warning today 🤣

  • Support the apple and android wifi print?

I got the 2700e for $39 few months ago, selected 700 pages plan and 6months free ink. I have online study and have to print a bit to help with notes and stuff. Can’t really complain for next 6 months. Then it will be rinse and repeat i guess. Condolences to the environment.

    • Whats the monthly price if you forget to cancel the 700 page plan?

    • Hi Cheapo,

Can I just check: This was truly free ink for six months?

You signed up for the Instant Ink Six Months Free, no extra up front cost, and killed the subscription before it renewed, and the ink was totally free?

Do you know if you will be able to 'rinse and repeat' or will you be blocked in some way (address maybe?)

      Thanks,

      Alan.

        Hi Alan,

Yes that’s correct, they will ship cartridges before you run out, and you always have spare in case you need to print in bulk. I currently have 2 spare colour and 3 black cartridges and nearly half ones installed. It’s like with all the businesses, they send you toner and you just pay for the per page print cost.

I had 2 over the last year (7month free ink as referral get you one more extra). Getting ink shipped same address, just under my partners email and name.

Upfront cost of the just the printer - in my case the first one was $27 and second one was $39.
I guess i have printed over 2000+ pages colour and b+w. I get the A4 paper from KMart ($5/500pg)

        Hope this answers your query.

        Cheers

        • Can you can just use the leftover ink as normal once you've cancelled the subscription? They don't have some "special" chip they use to block it's use if you aren't subscribed?

          • @Kiwi: No you can't continue using that ink, it's subscription based and they are special ink carts with DRM protection.

            • @Dunno: Yuck, thanks for that, I'll give it a go anyway, got plenty of paper to print shit on and see how it is.

Does it also come with any in the box that are genuine but "DRM-free" to use following the 7 months free?

              • +1

@Kiwi: Read the links in the discussion here
                https://www.cheapies.nz/comment/177923/redir

you can't use 3rd party/drm free ink if you choose their subscription, your printer is basically useless if you stop subscribing

                • @Huntakillaz: (profanity) disgusting really. For us we really only need to print things like return labels, and maybe some documents for travel. It looks like you can use the starter ink as a normal set of cartridges after you've done the setup, and after the 7 months free has been cancelled.

  • I have a HP printer and have always used genuine ink, bought 2x black ink as it was on special previously.
finished the first ink and when i changed it to the second one it won't accept the god damn ink saying 'older generation cartridge not accepted'
    bloody (profanity)

Yup thats why it's be wary if you buy any of the new HP Printers.
Got all sorts of DRM to screw you

      • yup, there is a way around the anti-older gen cartridges which is downgrading the firmware but haven't gotten around to do it cos i cbf

        • same issue here, so its now just a scanner and got a brother printer for everything else.

  • Link now says $159 ? So price maybe gone up after they got told off with the cash back.

HP Officejet Pro 9012E $98.99 PB Tech + $50 cashback (insider access until midnight)
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/PTRHPD9012E/HP-Officejet-Pr…

  • Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 7 Fitness Tracker for $58.99 seems decent

  • be careful with hp and block updates, they issue firmware updates and dont tell you it will block 3rd party cartridges or older ones. i got stung and
havent got ink for mine since, its now just a duplex scanner.

    https://www.theverge.com/2023/3/11/23635168/hp-printer-updat…

  • still $98.99 @ PB Tech

@Wakrak can you update the link please

    • Different printer though

      • oh ok, but both are part of the same series (9010) and have the exact same capabilities and features.
These are only marketing differences of different retailers/markets, etc..

  • Don't buy an inkjet, and especially don't buy a dodgy subscription inkjet.
