Possibly clearing old stock as it's no longer for sale on the KitchenAid website. I believe it's been replaced with the KSM195 but as far as I can tell they're mostly the same, except the KSM195 comes with an additional flex edge beater attachment and has slightly redesigned attachments.

Love my KSM160. It does the job well and looks great on the counter. I got an additional flex edge beater so I don't need to pause and scrape down the sides as often.
Only con is it's louder than I had expected.
We have one of these! My husband bought me one for Christmas around 3 years ago! It's fantastic - I kept putting off getting one because of the price (they were around $1200) - I wouldn't be without it now! Still going strong and have never had any problems with it! I use it 2-3 times a week - it saves a lot of time!
what do you make with it? thats getting some great use
I love baking so use this a couple of times a week. And I make either bread or indian bread (roti) once a week so use this for doing my dough! Saves ages on kneading!

Sounds like they were fast selling their little remaining stock. I got a call this morning that mine will be a display model without the box and the lady was going to confirm whether it will have the attachments cause their store displays did but possibly not the store mine is coming from
Mine arrived. Box had a second layer of tape, sus. Open it up and it's clearly a packed up Display model with greasy fingerprints visible in light. They have attempted to pack it up as original
Gonna pack it up again and see what happens if I go drop in the store, I would have expected a call like you got but nope they just tried to pass it off as new.
@eXDee: Got off better than me haha, mine came with some decent scratches / marks on the top. To their credit they let me know and sent photos before I accepted the thing. Tbf it's a large enough discount that it's still a really good deal
@Corex: Ah that sucks. I'm more frustrated they didn't notify, the principal more than anything. It is a good deal otherwise.
I received a call from my local store and been offered one of the following because they are out of stock:
5ksm150 for 399 or 5ksm195 for the price of the 160 model
Anyone have experience with either?
Personally I would go with the 5KSM195. That’s a good price for that model.

Darn I should have jumped on this deal without thinking about it too much. Me and my partner have been wanting one of these for ages and had been looking out for a decent deal. Oh well, there’s always next time! :)
