Skoda has just slashed $13k off the Enyaq range. Critically, that tips the entry model under the $80k rebate cap. With deliveries starting in September, that means a $7015 rebate.
Enyaq sportline starts at $79,990 incl ORC less $7015 = $72975.
Sportline Mas is now $84,990
Coupe Sportline Max is now $89,990.
This price cut means that Entry trim Enyaq is the longest range rebate eligible EV on the NZ market at 532km WLTP range (just beating out the EV6 & MG4 LR at 528 & 530km respectively). Also has excellent boot space, and some nice features like acoustic glass.
But I think it is fair to say that this price cut was badly needed for the Enyaq to be competitive with other vehicles in it's class.
As a general note, good to see prices for new cars start to track down from their lofty pandemic heights.
[edit] - some context to this price drop in the below link.
This pricing is only for "launch edition" cars, the production of which will end in December. A price hike is expected after that, when the car gets an update.
Also reading between the lines they seem to understand that the car was too expensive compared to it's compeditors:
"Achieving buyer interest in the car over the past three months had been problematic, he conceded.
“Our sales rates were slow, they weren't the greatest.” "

I’ve added a Clean Car Scheme tag to make it easier to find these rebate posts on Cheapies.
