Oral-B Pro 800 Electric Toothbrush $20 @ PAK'n SAVE Mill St, Hamilton (+ Pricematch at Chemist Warehouse)

260

Tried price-matching at The Warehouse but they denied me on the basis that they're already running a promotion on it.

You might have better luck at Chemist Warehouse.

Chemist Warehouse lowest price guaranteed policy.

The discount will take place during the time you purchase the product in store and our staff may choose to contact the competitor to verify their price before granting the price match.

Online and Click & Collect:

If you would like to price match online, please send us a direct link of the product on the competitors’ website it is being advertised on and your order number. Please note we require notification of your price match request within 24 hours of placing an order with us.

You will need to pay for your order in full, however after your price match has been approved you will receive a refund for the matched price.

Phew got mine just in time then. Got it for 16.65 at chemist warehouse, bargain

  • Whats the difference between this and Pro 100?

    • +1

I use Pro 100 and wife use pro 800.

I think the Pro 800 has got the timer for the quadrant (buzzing every 30s or so), battery light indicator where the Pro 100 doesn't have those. I also find the Pro 800 is faster (on full charge) than the Pro 100.

  • Lithium or nimh?

    • Nimh I believe. Replacing a 2.5yr old pro700 where the battery died and I expect this will last similar. The higher end 1500+ series are lithium.

      • Update: it says Ni-MH underneath like the pro 700. In fact the part numbers of both the toothbrush and charger for the older and newer models are completely identical. This must have been purely a marketing name change.

        • Id the nimh and lithium charger different? I had both models but never realised

          • @justaddwater: This one is the pro 800 as marketing name, with the same part number for the toothbrush 3756 and charger part 3757 which has 0.9w output. This is completely identical to the old marketing name pro 700. Side by side they are all the same. Both toothbrushes say NiMH underneath.

I assume the lithium charger is different.

  • Got mine at Chemist Warehouse for $16.65 around 4pm. The manager was pretty stoked when I showed him the site and he needed to look into his phone to verify. Got lucky! 😂

  • Still able to add the toothbrush to an online order, so I'm going to remove the expiry for now.

    • did you manage to get one at pns?

      • Nah, didin’t need one. Partner and I both use pro 2 2000.

  • I presume that in order to get the price match, you will have to go to the CW stores in Hamilton only?

    • I ddnt, in the CW rules i cldnt see anything about shops not being allowed from another town.

    • The website doesn't say that, but managers often try to state that the deal must be in the same town/city (at least they have with me). A bit like Mitre 10.

      • Ahh, I remember that at Mitre 10, I really want it to push and ask them where in their policy it says about "same town", but sometimes I lowkey worry they might just stop price matching.

I find it so disingenuous that The Warehouse won't price match because they have their own promotion on it. Clearly their promotion is not as good as what Pak n Save were doing. Their promotion is then no longer the best deal for the customer, they have a price match policy, match the damn price. I think I've worked out why they won't, and it's the limitation of their system. They could price match it, but they don't seem to be able to stop you from buying 1 and get one half price from their current promotion. So they just have a blanket rule, not if its in on some sort of promotion. But sorry The Warehouse your crappy buy one get one half price sales aren't great deals. Rant over. 😂😅

    • It's a shame they don't sell it in-store, because they often allow price-matches on products that are already on promotion.

    • +1

They can. I remember before when I got something price match, instead of applying a per item discount, they applied a per transaction discount. So if after price match I tried changing the quantity, the excess was at the normal price.

      • They can do that? Well that makes it even more bizzare that they won't price match an on promotion item. Makes no sense to reject it, other than they don't want to sell it at that price, in which case they need to stop pretending that they will price match with a competitor. I guess my rant wasn't over 😂😂

        • +1

Maybe. It may be more of a hassle/training/staff permission issue that they may not bother. But at the end of the day isn't it within their policy to decline users?

          • +2

@OmgItsHeaven: They definitely need some training for their staff, I've seen various, and some very strange, interpretations of their price promise. It's about treating their customers in good faith, I don't think they are. I assume the clause they are citing in this case is "Products lowered in price cannot be combined with any other TWL or competitor’s promotion or credit offer, or with any trade terms, direct purchasing from the supplier or limited quantity offers."
If a customer is simply asking for a price match on an item, it's really irrelevant if it's already on a promotion, because the promotion is thus excluded. The clause itself is pretty self explanatory, they will match the price - "Products lowered in price", but they won't combine it with another offer "cannot be combined with any other TWL or competitor’s promotion…" OK fine, match the price, but don't combine it. That's how I interpret that clause. I think that's how common sense would understand that clause. At least some of their employees have a different view in that they refuse to price match anything on promotion. I've even had one unhelpful staff member reject a request citing this very clause because the item was on a sale price, "a promotion", at their competitors. Which makes no sense, you may as well not even have the price match policy at that point. It means either the staff are making it up as they go to reject as many requests as possible, they legitimately don't understand what the clauses mean, or the clauses are not specific enough in the first place. The final result is it really ends up, at times, being a disingenuous offer. Thus not operating in good faith with the customer. Thanks for listening to my TED talk 🙏

  • So what happens if you apply for the price match at chemist warehouse and the item goes out of stock after you have paid full price but before they see the provided link???

    • If it's click and collect just leave it and if you dont pickup within 7 days its cancelled and you get a refund (haven't tried it myself but should work)

      • ooh good idea. just hope the price match is approved and paid back within that time

    • Were you doing this via email? I emailed them twice last week for a price match request but no response. Called them a few times to follow up but never got connected.

  • Does it require a specific oral-b head? Looking to replace my cheapo oralb electric toothbrush.

    • It comes with 2 heads but works with the 4 pack variety one i got the other week. Just not sure if the normal ones pulsate aswel as oscillate

  • I was told cw will only match other chemists they are a right nightmare to deal with

    • Your not bloody wrong there. Im lucky that Bayfair Chemist warehouse know who I am now and there pretty good with the price matching policy as long as you follow their policy.

Went into the Silverdale CW store this morning and can confirm they were happy to do the price match, got one for $16.66 pretty stoked. Better to go in store if you can then you get the discount immediately.

  • Successful price match with CW!! Thanks for the post 😊

  • The Manager at Chemist Warehouse didn't seem too happy to Pricematch me today, but got a Husky Deal for only $16.65! Totally worth :)

  • Got 2 of these from cw Hunters Plaza at $16.65 each.

  • Got one from CW botany. Went to Pakuranga CW and got refused to do the pricematch

    • They say why?

      • this is the old model so not gonna match it lol

        • Yes some CW stores are a nightmare now when you request a price match, used to be quick and easy. This one time I wanted to price match an item from Shavershop and they said they couldn't do it because they never heard of Shavershop lol

  • Amazing deal. Got the refund from chemist warehouse online now. $16.65 total, and free delivery.

    • How did you do this online?

      • +1

Purchase it online, then contact them within 24hrs. I did it through the online contact form. Mention your order number, competitor product link and competitor price. About 2 days later they did the price beat and refunded the difference to my payment method, which appeared on my card the following day.

There’s info about it tucked away on the FAQ page under “Lowest Price Guaranteed” section. To be on the safe side I waited until getting the refund before opening it. If for whatever reason it doesn’t work, just return it in store within 7 days of delivery.

        • Might just do a click and collect on it and leave it in store until I get refunded

        • So as it turns out a click and collect isn't an online order even though my payment was online. They told me to contact the store ugh

  • Got it price matched @ CW Kilbirnie, without any issues.

I also tried doing it online with click and collect but was told I have to complete the price-match in-store which kinda negates the point of the online process.

  • Te Rapa chemist warehouse isn’t doing price match cause they called pak n save and apparently it’s out of stock.

  • It is available now at Mill Street for $20. I got two from the store.
