  • Doesn't look like briscoes stock it anymore? The Barista touch is also on rebate ($1069) which you can price match at noel leeming which is good if you have the amex save 100 offer bringing it $969 which i believe is also an all time low?

    • Whats the model number for the Barista touch? Is it a Cosco exclusive as well?

      • Just checked its BES880 vs BES880BSS that noel leeming has. Goddamitt

        • Boooo! Thanks for checking.

        • BSS = Brushed Stainless Steel. Is the Costco one black?

Also, would NL even price match against Costco? I thought the membership requirement would disqualify them as an option

          • @Plug: Costco one is silver. I went to price match the breville one explicity asking if they match with costco, they were fine with costco but the only thing stopping it was the difference in model number

            • @corbettjms: Yep, I had a look today and Costco does indeed carry BES880BSS, it's just the price ticket that omits the colour designation.

Maybe you could try and get a match with this photo: https://i.imgur.com/jRQSMJM.jpg (zoom in on the top of the box)

Model numbers are different. Costco might be the only one that sells that version in NZ.

    • Oh shoot it is too. I have noticed they only tend to have packs like for Dewalt etc with different model numbers so just wishful thinking this was the same.

FYI this is not the same model number, they have done that thing where they deliberately make it different so it can’t be considered identical

What’s different to the regular BES870? The milk jug.

The only advantage that the Barista 875 has is its thermal milk jug. The jug is designed to display the real-time temperature of the liquid content inside it. The feature helps us control the milk temperature so that it won’t get too hot and makes the drink take forever to cool down. The thing is: Breville charges extra much for this thermal pitcher, which I don’t find very necessary in the long run.

So a win if you get this accessory upgrade at this good price but it makes it even less likely a store would price match in addition to some stores not matching member only deals etc.

Edit heh beaten by a couple of mins

  • Barista express impress is $900 which could be $800 with with AMEX deal…

  • Does Costco have the dual boiler, the BES920?
Seems to be discontinued in most the shops in NZ.

  • My brother bought this a little less than a week ago for his first coffee machine. He's made coffee at cafes in the past and is quite satisfied with the machine for its price.
