130

Finally we have a great deal for Plex Lifetime Pass. Probably the lowest in long time. Enjoy

Please follow the guide here to get Turkey MasterCard using Oldubil.

Step by step:

  1. You will need an Oldubil digital card with sufficient funds to make the purchase (TL₺822,99)
  2. Use your preferred Turkey VPN (For me NordVPN worked fine) and travel to Turkey.
  3. Use private/incognito window. Go to Plex Pass Upgrade page. If you are connected appropriately, you should see a prompt to upgrade with prices in TL₺. If you see another currency, you may need to try another ISP/VPN or another browser.
  4. Click the prompt and create or login to your Plex account. (I can't verify with existing account as I already have plex pass)
  5. Select lifetime pass for TL₺822,99
  6. Enter your Oldubil card details. Use postcode 06700 as it is the default for Oldubil Bank if required.
  7. You should be able to purchase the pass successfully.

  • Ok, now that oldubil has come to cheapies, maybe someone can help me.
I've tried using Oldubil before to get the xbox deal. However, I couldn't get to register on Oldubil because the text message never arrives on my phone.
I noticed when I pick the country code, it won't accept the phone number without the 0 in front of it. And I think that's why I can't get registered on Oldubil.
Has anyone been able to register here in New Zealand?

    • I have and probably few more. I am on kogan mobile with 10 digits number.

      Some discussion here

Looks like some are having issues with that. Probably due to either having 9 digits or one of service provider not working.

Maybe try and get a warehouse mobile or skinny number to try out.

      • I'm on kogan mobile and worked fine for me. Usually I have to request the code twice and it auto-populates the second time.

That said, deposited some money from Wise, followed the instructions, says sent on Wise but two days later, still nothing in Oldubil.

        • I had a Kogan sim card lying around, so I've put it in and tried with it. Still no SMS :(
          That's sad bro.

          • @Neotk: I am also unable to register with Oldubil, does not come through my 10 digit 2Degrees number and will not accept my 9 digit Vodafone number

  • I just checked unraid license from turkey, same price :-(

I've stopped using Plex in favor of Jellyfin which is free.

    • Thanks for the tip, mate. I'll give that a try!

    • I probably would too if I were going to set up new. But I've had a lifetime pass for over 8 years now I may as well get my money worth! :D

    • Why is jellyfin better?

      • Free Open source.
Also seems to be more stable when trying to "seek" a video plex will randomly lock up for me.

        • Never had plex server crash on me in last 8+ years. Also didn't find any issues with seek. Maybe some sort of settings or plex having some sort of issue on the hardware it's running?

By the way open source doesn't make it better. Jellyfin is good I have to say though.

          • @ace310: never said crash its running on very new modern hardware so its likely a software or Transcoder fault its not a major issue but i run both Jellyfin and Plex.
Open source does mean better as better modifications or bugs can be made by third parties not just the developer

  • Here is a bit of comparison between plex and jellyfin

    Article 1
    Article 2

Personally I am biased with plex as have been using it since 8-9yrs now. And sharing library with friends and family so kind of invested in the ecosystem.

Last I checked jellyfin had limited app support on Google tv. Could be wrong. I still like the plex ui, again a personal preference.

I would recommend try both and see which you like. Plex free version has lots of features so not bad at all. Live tv, plex movies and shows are good added benefits. Again a personal preference.

Another advantage of plex is you can link streaming services like Netflix, youtube, prime, Disney etc. Which is very helpful to have a universal search in plex app.

    Enjoy.

    • And link your Tidal music subscription (haven't done this yet myself).

  • +1 for Plex Lifetime Pass

  • Does plex has a better catalog of movies and shows as compared to Netflix?

Also heard Plex laid off 20% of their staff and might be going down or paywalling some of the features for lifetime users as they face hardship raising revenue.

Sounds like you don't know what Plex is.

      https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288286-what-is-plex/

    • Plex is really for running your own self hosted Netflix server with pirated movies and sharing it with others.

Plex has tried to change their model to also provide some movies and tv etc for free however the selection is not a lot.

      • +2

Correction, not only pirated movies but also CD/DVDs you own can be ripped and put on your plex server. Along with your personal videos if you like. Also, music can be added to it as well.

          Ahem, yes of course.

      • If you VPN to US then the FAST content is much improved.

  • FYI:

Oldbil won't be usable for this anymore: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/43074

    • Did anyone find any alternative yet? Been searching and can’t seem to find anything

Chance is there will be a black friday discount as it normally happens every year.
