Can you redeem multiple gift cards in one go?

Xbox series X $799 minus multiple gift cards to bring it down to $600ish?

      • I assume you can.
There is only one thing listed under the rules and restrictions in the Entertainment App and that states ‘Not to be used with any other offer’.

      • +3

yup.. i bought $210 (3x70), added to my account and whole $210 was available (along with my CC) for checkout as payment methods for a series S. didn't go through with it though since I already have an xbox.

my assumption is it will use $210 then rest draw from my card.

The gift cards all appear as "Microsoft Account Balance" which look to be good for anything in MS store. Not Xbox specific.

        Step 2: Payment
        Payment method
        Microsoft account balanceMicrosoft account balance
        Microsoft account balance
        NZ$136.46

        Remaining balance:NZ$662.54

How do you want to pay the rest?

  • That's a decent deal but annoyingly I don't need anything from the Ms store that I can't wait on my rewards points accumulating enough to pay for outright. Had I not picked up a series s I'd be really tempted by a series x at this price.

    • What do you do to accum rewards point?

      • +1

There's a fair few things now:

Bing searches 172 points a day
Shopping game 100 points a day
Rewards cards on the site 50-80 points a day
Gamepass quests have various value and intervals

Some also have daily thing in the Xbox app for
        Play jewel 5-13 points
Play pc with friends 100-250 points
        Logging in 5-15 points
Play a oc game 15 points

Overall without the PC stuff you can get over the 300 a day needed to keep gamepass topped up buy buying gold codes. With the lc stuff you can be getting 700-800 points a day which starts to really add up, and that's not including any of the gamepass ones that adds up to a load more each week.

        • How do you access the shopping game? I can't seem to find it.

          • +1

@Telemachus: Head to msn shopping then in the top corner hit the cog and change NZ to Australia,USA or UK. It should appear a few lines down the page. Also be on the desktop site as it doesn't appear on the mobile site, you can access it on a office by saying view desktop site.

There's also a few ways to cheat to maximize the rewards, if you click on see more for an item, pick any of the random items at the top of the pop up, then push back it unmasks the pricing for you to pick the cheapest. It's sometimes wrong on pricing but at worst you'll get about 8/10.

    • for anyone with a stash of rewards points seems like there's a glitch at the moment, redeem a 1 month xbox live code and it's cashing in for a 3 month code for 12000 points. Definitely the cheapest way they've had for adding more gamepass at 133 points per day compared to the previous 300 points a day from using 3 month xbox live gold redemptions.

Thanks! Just purchased $810 worth of vouchers for $615. Bought Xbox Series X for $799 with $11 left. You could also just buy $25 card instead of $40 and pay $4 by credit card.

Order Summary: $40 Microsoft XBOX ESD eGift Card x 1 at $30.00 each = $30.00
    $70 Microsoft XBOX ESD eGift Card x 11 at $52.50 each = $577.50
Debit card / credit card payment processing fee x 1 at $7.59 each = $7.59
    Order Total: $615.09

  • Some other things to consider to use vouchers for, I'll sleep on it before I spend too much …

    Elden Ring $83.96
Hogwarts Legacy: Digital Deluxe Edition $114.36
Xbox Wireless Controller – Starfield Limited Edition $119

    • There's also Xbox accessories, could get an elite controller or the wireless headset for a reasonable price as well.

I'm not sure how the store credit works with design lab but you might be able to get a customer controller cheaper, they are very rarely in sale.

  • How does this work in terms of purchasing of the gift cards? Is it tied to your entertainment book membership or do you get a code to apply to the purchase at the MS store? I assume the gift cards can be loaded onto any MS account once purchased..

Trying to be an ultimate cheapie and avoid purchasing an entertainment book membership if i can avoid it haha..

    • +1

You get an email with the code which can be added to any account.

      • So… any cheapies with an entertainment book membership not wanting to take up this deal want to do me a solid and redeem the offer and forward the email with the code?

        • Pretty sure you'd have to send them all the money, you buy the vouchers from the entertainment book using your membership and then get emailed the 25 digit microsoft codes back. Those codes are the ones that can be entered on to any ms account.

          • +1

@Everettpsycho: This is correct, its not a voucher code so will require payment upfront.

You can use mine if you want.

Thanks all, ended up biting the bullet and signed up for an EB membership..

Was initially a bit pissed off as when I went to try and buy the gift cards (late last night) it said it was all sold out! But I tried again this morning and managed to pick them up. They had the $70 gift vouchers available again, but showed as being sold out when I went back in again. So it looks like the 'stock' up everyday?

I had a 'free' $100 prezzy card from a 2degrees promo that I hadn't used yet, so managed to turn that into $130 worth of gift cards… Then paid $508.78 to get $670 worth of gift cards for a grand total of $800! Super happy!!

So for those interested, it looks like you can enter anyone's details when you've selected the gift cards you want, so for those who don't want to sign up to an EB membership, you can either send a member all money up front, OR you could just 'borrow' their membership details and DIY and pay yourself. The codes then get sent to the email you entered.

          • @blurtie: Now you can be a true cheapie and ruin every meal out by chasing the entertainment book deals 🤣

I think you can make back the upfront cost pretty easily if you dine out or get coffees from the places in the book. In Christchurch things like the gondola, tram and Antarctic centre really help covers the price quite easily.

            • @Everettpsycho: Haha - I did have a sneaky look at what places I could use vouchers from the EB on my outing today…

Ah snap, yes, we're based in Chch, so good to know we can use it for those activities. Something to do with the family!

          • @blurtie: What did you buy? I have an xbox One and not sire if eorth getting the newer console?

            • +1

@jackvdbuk: I just got a Xbox One series X, to replace my Xbox one - which is showing signs of needing EOL support.. The disc drive has practically stopped working, might fire up on the odd occasion but pretty frustrating. Still not bad for almost 10 years of service!

            • @jackvdbuk: We're about to hit the turning point where new games will be exclusive to the series s/X consoles and the Xbox one will stop receiving versions of new titles. The big selling point of the series s is it's significantly better load times and higher frame rates, while the series X offers all that and looks nicer being capable of 4K in some titles. Load times the games that used to take over a minute each loading screen are now done in about 15 seconds.

I'd say it's worth the upgrade soon even to a series s, but I'd recommend waiting and getting/preordering the 1tb version at $450 through this deal. The series X is the better unit but I struggled justifying the extra money for a prettier game and more storage. I got a series s for about the price in this deal and have barely spent any more money on gaming due to that and rewards covering my game pass sub.

  • +1

Also seems they are offer $20 countdown vouchers at sign up to the entertainment book. So those after a series x you'll have to spend $70 signing up but get $20 back. Pretty sure you'll be able to find $50 of savings in a 12 months membership though, a few coffees and buy one get one free main courses when eating out will cover that cost in no time.

  • +2

Brought $40x20 for $600 + $7.50 fee = $607.50 for ($800 credit). It was a bit painstaking doing every code BUT i was able to buy the Xbox series X for my son. So a big thank you ❤️ oh and I did try buying the higher vouchers but it said it was sold out

  • When i click on redeem i just get a webpage saying "Entertainment Publication SSO" ?

    • I just tried, still works when you click redeem…asks you to sign in to entertainment book, and you click redeem again and it takes you to purchase page. Only $25 is available, $40 and $70 out of stock.

  • Can I use the gc for 'Microsoft Realms Plus Monthly' (monthly server fee for Minecraft, currently paying $11.7/month)?

  • Hmm I bought 10 of the $40 vouchers yesterday and am still waiting for my coupons.. starting to get really nervous now ..

    • Check your spam… Esp if you used a gmail account. That's where I found mine..

    • Yes, should be instant. Mine ended up in spam as well.

  • Just an FYI it looks like the price of the Xbox Series X console and game pass will be going up on 1st August.

  • gift cards no longer appear to be available - only memberships
