We went for memory foam ones from Container Door - https://www.containerdoor.com/nz/catalog/zzz-bed-memory-foam…

Also got duvet, pillows and bedsheets too.

They do a standard mattress too, currently not available but they cycle through regularly - https://www.containerdoor.com/nz/catalog/hay-bed-mattress-on…

We are very happy with our ecosa. More on the firm side, but we prefer that way. Got Emma before but felt bit soft so returned it. Had back problems with spring mattress so gave up on that.

Everything is personal preference. Lots of comments on Ecosa and Emma on here. Search for it. I think both still have 60-90 days return policy so try it out.

Definitely give an Ecosa a decent go if you have back pain, you get three months to try it so take advantage of that

Friends happy with Ecossa. They often have discount codes etc check this website for previous offers.

We got a firm single mattress from target in the medium to high end of their price range and found it was really good.

    Napp.co.nz. Best ones imo

  • Very happy with the Ecosa mattress and pillow (although the latter was quite expensive). Would definitely recommend.

  • Grabbed a Winkl for my son's bed which he has found great. Grabbed an Emma for our main bed and it was horrific (lumpy and brutally hard). Replaced that (within the free exchange period) for a Winkl which we have been happy with. Would buy again, but not obsessed to the point where we wouldn't look at alternatives at the time for replacement :)

  • Also have an Ecosa (have used for over 1.5 years). No concerns here. Worth a try especially with the 100 nights return policy

  • Winkl has 120 days free return

  • Haven't heard of ecosa but also in the market for a new mattress. Anywhere to try before buying is if that why they have they 120 day return policy?

    • Correct. Returns were easy with Emma & Ecosa(friend did it) pre-covid. I think not much would have changed. Contact support and they will arrange for return pickup on selected date. They will come and pick it up. I think they sell/donate the return mattress to likes of Salvation Army.

      • Yes, Ecosa returns work with you handing the mattress over to the Salvation Army. Once they confirm they've received it, you get your refund

  • What prices for what size have people paid for thiers?

    • 25% off for a Queen Ecosa. It’s regularly discounted by 20% (like right now, but you get free sheets). 25% is less frequent. 30/35% is rare (it was 35% on a spend more and save promo a couple of weeks ago iirc you had to purchase about 2k worth for 35% off).

Alternatively just purchase whenever and keep an eye on their promo’s and if they have a bigger discount within your 100 night window, send them a message on live chat and they should refund you the difference out of goodwill.

    • Paid $1125 for Ecosa super king in '21

  • We bought an Emma ‘Comfort’’ for our son, I end up sleeping on it sometimes and find it very comfortable

  • Highly recommend this one, I was so close to getting one of those mattress in a box ones, however tried the Emma, Ecosa and both were rubbish.

Got mine for $2700 delivered with free pillow, mattress protector

    • That is a pretty steep discount on what the current price is ($6,459). Was is $2700 on a sale or did you haggle?

      • I got told never look at the RRP for mattresses, if you go into bed stores they will instantly discount it by 50% - im sure I overpaid for mine but got over trying different ones at different stores - think the guy at the store started at 3k, and I haggled with the extras down to 2.7k. Had the swisstek for 6 months now and definitely the most comfortable mattress ive slept on.

  • Sleepyhead beds at farmers can be discounted at more than 60%.. if you generally ask for just for more than 50% discount for beds, they have shown me the cost price (but I can also tell you they are willing to sell below cost sometimes) delivery etc can be negotiated.

Also you can get 50% off furniture at farmers just be asking generally..

policies may have changed but worth knowing you value price points.
