  • Is rainbow's end any good these days? Last time I went was probably over 30 years ago. Is this a good price for what you get?

    • I would also like to know

We took our 8yo last year and he loved it. Would certainly go back. You make a day of it and its good. Just plan around the scheduled maintenance so you know what to expect. If you go on the week day, the rides are scheduled, but the lines are much smaller. Weekends/Holidays are manic and expect to spend much of your time in queues. If you can, do the week days.

We went to one of their winter twilight evenings in the first week of the holidays and we all LOVED it! My 6yo was just big enough (120cm) to go on most of the thrill rides (rollercoaster, invader, fearfall, bumper boats etc). We all had a blast! It had definitely improved over the 30 years. Even the log flume has had an impressive upgrade.
If you have kids, check the height restrictions first to see what they will and wont be able to go on. I think you get much more bang for your buck when they hit that 120cm mark.

My 6yo and 9yo love it. My 6yo would the log flume all day long if they could. My 9yo is a bit of a thrill seeker and the rollercoaster and the invader are some of their favourites.

Tbh, I enjoy Rainbow's End (secretly?) too. Sure, it's not Disneyland or the Gold Coast but I'm ok with a smaller park with shorter queues.

We go a few times a year. It seems rare to me that it's one of those places that IMPROVES with time. Rather than become run down and outdated. Unusual when they don't have any competition really. With our young kids we go at opening time and they have wanted to stay right through to 5pm. That's a hint how enjoyable it is (for us)

We took our seven year old last year, and she definitely enjoyed it.

We didn't go on any of the 'big rides' given her age, so I could not comment for older kids.
