  • Excludes black plates, probably the most common plate choice.

    • You reckon? I think most still go for the white background with personalised black text.

  • Does anyone know if they ever have sales for black plates?

    • They're fairly new so they won't be wanting to sale an item they're already getting top dollar for already.

    • They have never offered discounts for black.

      • They did, in late June they had 10% on all Personalise plates. I had mine in the check out but forgot to complete transaction later that day so remember it so clearly :(

        • Sorry I mis read it as have they had discounts for the black plate upgrade from existing plate.

  • Funny was just reading about how this is an overseas company who has a monopoly to supply custom plates- because NZTA handed out just one contract (they used to let multiple companies supply the market)

    • There's actually another twist - the previous company had the contract for many years and actually sued NZTA claiming NZTA wasn't allowed to let kiwiplates take on the contract

    • I always wondered why they cost so much, I'm assuming cost of materials wise it would be pretty cheap but most would be the legal stuff to deal with, still though.

      • the company that actually makes the plates, Licensys, charges around $25 to make the plates

  • Does anyone know where I can find Slimline number plate surrounds? Repco/SCA does not sell these. Recently got 2 new black Slimline plates for my car, but the standard plate surrounds doesn't fit, without cutting them on each side, then glueing/silicone them. Got a reply from a local company, saying it's quite expensive to setup a new plastic mould etc. Or I'll just chuck the surrounds, and fit the plates without any surrounds.

  • Shame PEN15 has gone, otherwise I would have totally bought one

    • +1

“A PEN1S” is available, should you be so inclined

  • Promo extended until the 31st August now.
