From what I can tell, CE broadband plans have no fixed terms or break fees. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If you leave Contact Energy within 30 days, the Offer will cease to apply, and no credit or refund will be given. Stay for two months and then switch?

T&Cs state that this is for customers that received an email, but I found this deal on Facebook 🤷

If you just have power, 300/100 plan is $75 (- $19.58 = $55.42/m over 12 months). power+gas, 300/100 plan is $70 ($50.42/m over 12 months).

$19.58 = $250 - $14.99 / 12 (on the assumption that you don't bring your own modem and stay on for 12 months).

    Nice one. This deal is actually pretty decent once paired with power and your discount. A lot of the mobile providers providing broadband are currently putting their prices up further and not offering any bonuses.

  • Fixed term with my current provider ends in Jan 2024. It looks like you can set preferred start date to switch broadband to Contact Energy. Does anyone know if I can request it now using the promo code for the credit to be applied in Jan?

      I tried to do the same during the promotion at end of last year and ask to apply the code later and they declined, you have to use the code within the promotion period

    Hate this crap, they upped my fibre $10 a month to give others discounts.

      Everyone got/is getting an increase in their fibre plan pricing, doesn't matter which ISP.

      I believe it was Chorus (?) putting up their prices, so almost all the ISPs would have put theirs up too.

      However, always possible it really was personal to you :-)

    I've used their fibre broadband when they were doing the three months free promo, there was a reason why it was free.

    The connection is handed by a company called Devoli in akl and it's quite frankly "sh!t", if you want any decent speed do not use them.

    • Devoli network is not stable.

    Called their contact centre once in the evening, when my broadband went down. Someone non-technical picked up the call (might be the janitor!) told me that all the agents have gone home! I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry tbh.

    If you are already with Contact on the max Fibre Plan (like me):

    • Change plan
    • Click Fast Fibre Plan
    • Apply code
    • Click back on Max Fibre plan
    • Continue.

    My bundle brings it down to $89/m

    Lets hope they honour it.

    • I already bundle electricity and internet through contact. Was in the process of doing this but noticed the quoted power rates were higher than what I was already paying..

    Currently with Skinny and using their modem.
