From what I can tell, CE broadband plans have no fixed terms or break fees. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If you leave Contact Energy within 30 days, the Offer will cease to apply, and no credit or refund will be given. Stay for two months and then switch?
T&Cs state that this is for customers that received an email, but I found this deal on Facebook 🤷
If you just have power, 300/100 plan is $75 (- $19.58 = $55.42/m over 12 months). power+gas, 300/100 plan is $70 ($50.42/m over 12 months).
$19.58 = $250 - $14.99 / 12 (on the assumption that you don't bring your own modem and stay on for 12 months).
Add broadband to your Contact energy plan and get a $250 credit - it’s a stream come true!
How do I get my $250 credit?
- Log into My Account
- Select 'Change plan' from the dropdown menu
- Select 'Add new services' and choose your preferred Broadband plan
- Enter the promo code SWITCH250 before completing your order
Your $250 credit will appear on your next bill once your broadband service is connected. Too easy.
You'll save $5 off our standard price when you bundle with power, and $10 off our standard price when you bundle with power and gas

** Speeds shown are peak time average speeds from the Commerce Commission MBNZ Spring report. You may experience higher or lower speeds than these national averages. Factors such as the performance of your modem, location of the server you’re connected to, the performance of your device and your in-home WiFi setup can impact the speeds experienced. For best results a wired ethernet connection is recommended.
*** The figures for this product are the maximum theoretical speeds for customers in the Enable, Chorus & Tuatahi network areas because there is no data available for this product in the Spring MBNZ Commerce Commission report.
